Not even a month back, Kashyap appeared on his daughter, Aaliyah Kashyap’s podcast in which he was questioned about the post on his Instagram with him praising Sandeep Reddy Vanga to which he answered that he invited Vanga, talked about his movie and he liked him.
Adding on to this, his daughter said what she couldn’t digest was she had a word with him and criticized Animal, stating the misogynistic approach of the movie and he too agreed to her but later went ahead and promoted the director on his Instagram and the problem was not him liking Vanga but the caption of his post which was him promoting the animal director.

To which he said he don’t like people attacking and isolating someone when he was also there once when people cancelled him and didn’t want to work with him tagging him as untouchable when Dev D was released people called him a misogynist. The same thing was happened to him after Gangs Of Wasseypur was released.
Sandeep Reddy vanga’s, Animal was a commercial success but had its fair share of criticism because of the depiction of violence and misogyny, not only the audience but famous people from the film fraternity came ahead and slammed him for the portrayal. And not only Animal, his similar approach movies, Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy also didn’t sit well with the audience, though both of them were a commercial success as well.
Famous lyricist Javed Akhtar at the Ajanta Ellora International Film Festival in Aurangabad put forward his concern about the film which depicts violence against women, though he didn’t mentioned any names though the reference appeared to suggest at the recently released movie Animal, not only this notable figure Kiran Rao also accused him for normalizing tracking down and intolerable behavior against women.
Reacting to the same the director said how easy it was for Javed Akhtar to point out at someone and not look at his son who produced Mirzapur which is widely famous for its explicit and blunt content. Also answering it back to Kiran Rao he stated that how Aamir Khan’s film “Dil” had scenes where the almost attempt of rape led to realising his love. He also put forward his confusion on how they are lacking a comprehensive understanding and how they are unable to grasp the larger context of his story line.
