The Dream Smartwatch, a new product from Fire Boltt, has been released. It offers 4G connection in part due to a SIM card.
According to the firm, this is the first “Wrist Phone”—a blend of a wristwatch and smartphone—that supports Android 4G LTE nano-SIM. Both gaming apps and over-the-top (OTT) platforms are apparently supported by the smartwatch.
Wrist phone :
The first wristwatch with compatibility for Android 4G LTE nano-SIM is the Dream smartwatch, which was introduced in India by Fire Boltt, on January 10, 2024. This wearable technology blends the sophisticated style of a smartwatch with the functionality of a smartphone, hence the term wrist phone given.
According to their claims, Fire Boltt is the first wristwatch running Android that lets users download Android apps from the Google Play Store. Without a connected smartphone, it is capable of operating autonomously, including making calls and running Android OS, and the watch is compatible with gaming and OTT apps. The watch may be bought at physical stores all around India as well as on Flipkart and the company’s official website.
Fire Boltt Joins the trend :
The trend of enabling a SIM in a smartwatch started in the previous year and is still continuing. Nowadays, almost all the major companies have launched their brand’s smartwatch supported by SIM. Boat, Apple, Noise are a few examples of it.
This marks the smartwatch maker’s idea of making smartwatches that are not reliant on smartphones. Fire boltt too joins the campaign with its new product ‘Dream’, but the thing that removes the other companies out of the league is that the ‘Dream’ comes with a physical SIM rather than an eSIM, which is used by the various other watch brands that are already available in the market.

What makes Wrist Phones better ?
Standalone or independent smartwatches offer more independence and autonomy than traditional smartphones. They offer features such as fitness and health tracking, music and media playback, communication, navigation assistance, emergency contact capabilities, better battery life, workout and activity monitoring, and custom apps and widgets.
These devices often come equipped with sensors like heart rate monitors, GPS, and accelerometers, allowing users to track their health and fitness metrics without a smartphone. They also have built-in storage for music and media playback, cellular connectivity for calls, messages, and social media access, and GPS capabilities for navigation assistance.
However, the specific features and capabilities of standalone smartwatches can vary among models and brands, so users should consider their specific needs and preferences when choosing a smartwatch as there are many similar products getting launched day by day.
