HERE’S WHAT THE CO-STARS SAID

The actor passed away tragically on October 28 at the age of 54. He was discovered dead in the jacuzzi at his home in the Los Angeles area, according to TMZ. His death’s official cause is still unknown.

The most well-known part of Matthew’s career was his 1994–2004 stint as Chandler Bing on Friends. One of the biggest shows of the decade was the ensemble cast, which featured Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc. Matthew even received an Emmy nomination in 2002. On October 30, the entire cast of Friends gave a statement to PEOPLE in response to Matthew’s passing.

Matthew experienced ups and downs in his real life while battling addiction, despite his success on screen. In his book, the actor revealed that he has spent over $9 million trying to get clean over his lifetime. He also disclosed that he has visited a mental health facility, gone to therapy twice a week for thirty years, and been close to death. But by the time his book came out, the native of Massachusetts was clean and had made it his mission to support others in their fight against addiction.

After Matthew Perry passed away, his friends and former co-stars shared heartfelt messages about the actor.

FRIENDS’ CO-STARS HEARTFELT TRIBUTE

LISA KUNDROW

She expressed her gratitude to her dearest friend Matthew for making her laugh. She further added that his willingness to be flexible in a six-way relationship that necessitated compromise was very well appreciated by her.

MATT LE BLANC

On November 14, Matt LeBlanc became the first member of the main cast of Friends to post a personal remembrance of Matthew on Instagram. In response, Matt shared pictures of himself and his time spent portraying Joey and Chandler on Friends along with a moving tribute to his deceased co-star.

“Matthew, I must say goodbye with a heavy heart,” Matt captioned the photo. He also mentioned that the times they spent together were always his best moments in life. COURTNEY COX

She wrote as the caption for her photo that she misses Matthew every day, and feels grateful for every moment they spent together. They have formed countless memories while working together and these memories are extremely special. For the video that Courtney shared, she mentioned that this is one of her favourites since their love story of Monica and Chandler, characters played by Courtney and Matthew respectively, was meant to be a one time thing but grew into a relationship only because of the audience’s reaction. Matthew whispered a funny line to say in this scene to Cortney before they had started filming. That was something Matthew did a lot. His improv was very well known.

JENNIFER ANNISTON

As the cast began to post more and more heartfelt tributes to Matthew, Jennifer wrote a lengthy post on Instagram for her long lost friend too.

Jennifer mentioned in her post that this loss really hit home. The Morning Show celebrity further wrote that she has never experienced such a crazy wave of emotions as she has while saying goodbye to her late co-star. Everybody has lost someone at some point in their life. loss—either of life or of love. It is possible to experience moments of joy and thankfulness for having loved someone so deeply when one is able to truly sit in this grief.

Everybody was really fond of him. He was a true member of the friends’ family. The six members of the cast were always together. Their paths and identities were permanently altered by this family that was chosen by them. Mathew knew that he always wanted and enjoyed making people laugh. He believed that he would die if he didn’t hear the laugh. It literally meant his life or death. And he was very much successful in accomplishing that. Jennifer mentioned in the caption that she has been reading through all of their texts to each other over the past few weeks and it kept her crying and laughing all simultaneously.

DAVID SCHWIMMER

In his Instagram tribute, David took a moment to commend his former co-star’s portrayal of Chandler Bing.

He thanked Matthew for ten years of creativity and laughter. He further said that he will always remember the flawless comic timing and delivery. Matthew created something so completely unique and surprisingly funny.
