Karishma Kapoor’s career
Karishma Kapoor made her silver screen debut with the film Prem Qaidi in the year 1991, she was starred opposite Harish Kumar, the film was mediocre at the box office following that 5 of her films were box office failures two of which were alongside Salman Khan and one with Akshay Kumar.
After that her films Anari and Jigar were box office success. Her initial years in the show business were full of struggles because most of her films were box office failures leaving a few here and there.
Following that she was starred in numerous movies which achieved great success earning her widespread praise for her acting skills.
She won her first Filmfare award as the best actress for her role in the film Raja Hindustani, the film was a commercial success and proved to be a turning point in her career.
She then appeared in many successful movies like Judwaa, Hero No. 1, Dil To Pagal Hai, Biwi No. 1 , Jaanwar, Hum Saath Saath Hai, etc .receiving many awards for the same.
After the year 2000, she significantly appeared in some movies before taking a break from her career to focus on her personal life and re-returning to the silver screen for some of the movies. She was also seen as a judge in many television shows.
Personal Life
Karishma Kapoor was rumored to be in relationship with her co star Ajay Devgn. After that she was in a serious relationship with actor Abhisekh Bachchan, the duo was engaged on Amitabh Bachchan’s 60th birthday but they called off their engagement without reasoning it out, reports suggest that the main reason of the split was Babita’s interference in her daughter’s personal life.
She then married business man Sanjay Kapur in the year 2003, the couple was blessed with a daughter followed by a son. They filed for divorce with Karishma accusing her husband for domestic violence and final separation in the year 2016.
