Importance of Good Governance Day:
Birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on 25th December is declared as ‘Good Governance Day’ to commemorate his legendary principles. The day is celebrated to usher about responsibility and accountability in Governance and Government.
BJP’s planning for the day:
On this special day, BJP organised ‘Ajat Shatru’ across India through different events and activities. On 99th Birth anniversary of great leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee, BJP asked party officials and state presidents across India to pay tribute to the honourable leader of all time. His portrait and his life as well as political journey should be remembered with due respect at all places of the country.
Purpose of Good Governance Day:
Prime Minister Modi popularised the theme of ‘More Governance Less Government’, to fulfil this motto, Modi government selected the mentioned day to heighten awareness among common public.
Governance is expected to be facilitator and enabler in linking accessibility to public. Be it basic services or digital education general masses must aware of their facilities and should address their grievances seamlessly.
Last mile delivery and leaving no one behind is the guiding light of good governance for any country.
Multitude range of government schemes including Chhattisgarh CM to award two years bonus to be given to 12 lakh farmers.
Further, Uttar Pradesh CM appreciated Modi for his dream project of inaugurating Lord Ram temple in Ayudha on January,2024 as he believes Bajpayee ji too had similar qualities like the divine being.
Launching Curated Training Programme:
On the occasion of Good Governance Day, Government is all set to introduce Curated training programme for government employees. Union Minister, Jitendra Singh is to announce three new components on the iGOT Karamyogi platform for enhancing skills and knowledge of government staff.
As per Department of Personnel and traing(DoPT), the three features are- My iGOT, blended programmes and curated programmes for fostering governance in public work space. My iGOT is based on targeted training programmes on the home page of individual officers to increase capacity building. This will enable particular officer to identify their work requirements thereby delivering a highly skilled and customised/target-oriented services at office.
According to Ministry of Personnel more than 28 lakhs users have already joined the initiative and nearly 830 high quality e-learning courses are being provided for the said programme. Additionally, iGOT Karmayogi platform will ensure easy and equitable access to training set ups at each level to cater the varied requirement of the office personnel.
Moreover, this training programme will have both online as well as offline facilities and it enables hassle-free accessibility as per the convenience of government officials. Government made lucrative benefits to the officials for enhancing their capacity and to enlarge the base of work by keeping the dynamic need into account.
At rapid pace technologies are advancing towards a new digital era so does demands of services, therefore such training programme could ease out the pressure of government offices.In line with the necessity of present hour, these blended courses will provide ample opportunities to deal with different nature of functions. Mission Karmayogi alongside these frameworks are expected to add a new push to governance sector.
