Speaking to Indian Express , the founder Mr. Abhishek Sinha underscored that Pune is an appropriate place for plant protein as people there are much aware of it and open to Innovations and Creativity . He also shared that the chosen cuisine of Paris Olympics is Plant based and the tennis Champion Novak Djokovich follows a balanced plant based diet.
Sinha completed his graduation in Chemical engineering from Bharathi Vidyapeeth in Pune . Then worked under Indian Revenue Service and served as a Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax in Udaipur . Before he gave up , was an ardent Meat eater.
Mr. Sinha left the service to start the company with his friends and family as he felt a discomfort in eating Meat by killing animals . At the time the plant based protein was in practice in the west so he wanted that to be Introduced in India too.
The GoodDot company was started in 2016 after two to three years of Research and Development. The Company possess two factories one for Plant based Protein and other for spices

They used many veg materials like Soya Chunks , gram flour , wheat to make a layer that matches Animal’s Meat in taste , texture and nutritional value .The demand for Plant based foods has risen significantly from 20 -40 tonnes to 600 – 700 tonnes.
According to the Colorado State University , replacing meat based protein with plant based will reduce the risk of developing Chronic diseases , heart disease , diabetes and some cancers . Similarly the plant based food contains more vitamins , minerals and antioxidants which is good for overall health
