Google the tech giant is eventually retreating out of the app which once was highly popular among everyone, google initially decided to make android tv the default app in 2022 where you would be able to rent, purchase and watch movies and shows.

The time for Google play and TV is over
In the recent post by google it said the time for google play and tv has come to an end now and they had decided to remove it from google play store ,Roku and tv. Google was slowly pushing away its users from google play movies and tv for a while now it was once a dream platform for movie lovers When it was at its highest the play store had tabs for Apps ,Books, Magazine ,Movie. People who had purchased the contents while the app was active doesn’t need to worry as they can get access to their contents.

Google has not given a valid reason for the removal of most of its platforms.it might be a strategic move from their side to merge its streaming platforms into one brand which is you tube
How to access to the content you have purchased
If you are using a web browser or set top box which are powered by android tv you can access the content from you tube and rent or buy also if you are using android tv or devices which stream android tv then you can access your contents from the ‘Your Library’ In the shop icon .If movies or tv shows are removed from the play store you need to login into you tube from a web browser(https://www.youtube.com/feed/storefront).
