JN.1: Analysing this Sub-variant
JN.1 is the new strain of Covid-19, recently circulating in all over the world including India. It is also a descendant of Pirola or BA.2.86, which is a sub-variant of Omicron. This virus caused sore throats, fever, runny nose, headache and gastrointestinal problems.
JN.1 feels like an influenza-like disease which carries a mutation in the spike protein and this protein helps the virus to spread in the body system and become infected. Government also says in India 92.8% of people isolated in their homes thought it was a mild illness. Though it is recoverable and doesn’t spread that much harm, the government is still told to take precautions so that we can fight against JN.1.
