Gurucharan Singh Requests Return to “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,” Urges Producer to Remove Current Actor

Gurucharan Singh, known for his role as Roshan Sodhi in the popular television series “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah” (TMKOC), has expressed his desire to return to the show. According to a report by News18, Singh recently approached the show’s producer, Asit Modi, with a request to remove his replacement, Balwinder Singh Suri.

Request to Rejoin the Show

Sources reveal that Gurucharan Singh met Asit Modi in Mumbai, where he urged the producer to terminate Balwinder Singh Suri’s contract and reinstate him as Roshan Sodhi. However, Modi reportedly refused Singh’s request, stating there was no valid reason to replace Balwinder, who had been fulfilling the role since Singh’s departure.

 His Departures and Returns

Gurucharan Singh initially played the character of Roshan Sodhi until 2012 when he reportedly left following a disagreement with the show’s creators. Despite his claims of being replaced without notice, sources indicated he was given a four-month notice period. Due to fan demand, Singh returned to TMKOC in 2013 but eventually exited the show again in 2020, making way for Balwinder Singh Suri.

Earlier this year, Singh made headlines when he mysteriously disappeared in April. After leaving for Mumbai, he failed to arrive, prompting his father to file a missing person complaint with Delhi Police. During the investigation, it was discovered that Singh was managing multiple bank accounts and credit cards despite financial difficulties. In May, he returned to his family home in Delhi, explaining his absence as a “spiritual journey” to address personal and professional issues. Upon his return, Singh was questioned by the Delhi Police, and his statement was recorded in a local court.

Future on TMKOC

Gurucharan Singh’s recent return to Mumbai has sparked speculation about his potential comeback to TMKOC. When asked by a fan at Mumbai airport if he would return to the show, Singh responded, “God knows. Rab jane. Mujhe kuch nahi pata hain. Jayse hi pata chalega, aapko bataunga (God knows, I don’t know anything. As soon as I get to know, I will tell you guys).”

The situation remains unresolved, with no confirmation of Singh’s return to the show, leaving fans curious about the future of Roshan Sodhi’s character on TMKOC.
