Born on 30th December 1995 in Daegu, the multi-talented Kim Taehyung from BTS turns 28 this year. His absence, however, is deeply felt as he was enlisted in the mandatory military service on December 11.

Fans of BTS were ecstatic to see images of Taehyung wearing military uniforms on social media, ahead of his birthday. Alongside Taehyung, RM’s military pictures also went viral all over social media some weeks after they started their mandatory military service.
The two are seen sitting in a disciplined manner in the images, yet many find them quite charming. His sharp eyes are hard to miss. But some keen-eyed fans also notice that within a short period, Taehyung has been promoted. His blue badge is an indication that Taehyung is now a platoon leader. Fans are proud of Taehyung’s newest accomplishment.

On Saturday, BTS’ Taehyung released a new song titled “Wherever U R” in honor of his 28th birthday, marking his first-ever collaboration with American musician UMI. UMI’s official YouTube channel has already received much attention for the song’s lyrical video.

On his birthday his agency, Hybe released a video on BTS’s official X account. Taehyung is seen strolling along the street in the footage. Taehyung, was dressed warmly because the location appeared to be someplace around London. Looking at the camera, he laughed and stated in Korean, “Hello, today is my birthday!” “Ha, ha, ha.”

Jin’s wish leaves fans emotional
On December 31, 2023, Jin took to the South Korean social media network Weverse to wish Kim Taehyung a happy birthday, causing the internet to erupt as he became the first and final person to greet him.
As Jin wished Kim Taehyung on Weverse, they remembered the video he released on December 4, 2023, in which he also wished Taehyung, making him the first and final person to wish Taehyung a happy birthday before his enlistment.
With that Taehyung’s birthday came to a beautiful end. Fans are eagerly waiting for 2025 when BTS will resume their activities as a group. Jungkook, Jimin, RM, Jin, J-hope, Taehyung, and Suga have all enlisted in the military by the end of 2023.
