Kohhra, The Gone Game, and The Test Case are just a few of the noteworthy projects that actor Harleen Sethi has worked on. She has also firmly led the famous series Broken But Beautiful. Although she is constantly conscious of being in front of cameras due to her status as a public figure, she talks about how her adolescent years were marred by severe bouts of acne on her face, which she attributes to PCOD.

Yoga aids in managing PCOD.

Actress Harleen Sethi disclosed that, at the age of approximately 21, she received a PCOD diagnosis. “Since I was a teenager, I have had bad acne, and my cortisol levels keep rising. I was seeing dermatologists who would prescribe antibiotics without trying to figure out why. My mother advised me to start practicing yoga instead of doing intense workouts to help me control my PCOD.

For me, pranayama has been especially helpful. Harleen says of the several types of yoga she practices, “I prefer traditional Hatha Yoga and have never been a fan of power yoga.” It matters more how your body feels in a pose than how long you hold it. Iyengar and Yin Yang yoga are also practiced by me. With every pose, Yin Yang Yoga emphasizes deep breathing, but Iyengar Yoga uses chairs, blocks, ropes, and other tools to help you stretch your boundaries.

Harleen says that her sinus problems have improved as a result of her Jal Neti practice, which involves cleaning the nasal passages. “Sunlight in my life is like my yoga mat. It makes for a fantastic start to the day for me,” she continues. You could get better at balance by doing different kinds of yoga and postures. Even with my unpredictable schedule and frequent travel for photoshoots, I still make it a point to practice consistency and learn various styles of yoga.

Late detection of PCOD.

The 32-year-old performer talks about her battle with the hormonal illness, saying that she saw multiple dermatologists since she was 15, but it wasn’t until she was 21 that she received the right diagnosis. Her mother was the one who recommended that they get a hormone test. Sethi experienced severe mental distress as a teenager when she observed other people’s immaculate skin.

PCOD and my emotional breakdown.

Since I was fifteen years old, every time I have seen a new dermatologist, I have sobbed. I have had more emotional problems than physical ones. I find skin to be such a delicate subject these days. Every time I saw a woman on film, I was more drawn to her immaculate skin than to her overall beauty. I said, “Wow! This flueless skin!” I want it in my next life. I was now officially poor. One hundred percent of one’s self-worth is lacking. You begin to feel that you are unworthy and inadequate.

In addition to acne, PCOD also causes additional symptoms that are frequently disregarded by the general public.

Although acne seems to have been the most noticeable symptom, insulin resistance has also resulted in hard-to-get fat areas on your body. Another obvious but undetectable symptom was emotional irregularity. Extremely severe PMS. When it first begins, you don’t understand why you are so irritable for the first two or three days, but it hits you when you start weeping. Two to three days do a great deal of harm, she claims.

Will to never give up.

Nonetheless, her unwavering determination to persevere enabled her to comprehend her physique and harmonise it with an unpredictable vocation such as performing.

“It has been an extremely difficult road emotionally. These several underlying problems begin. My general outlook on life was another factor that helped save me. I simply never stopped,” the performer claims. She continues, Robin Sharma once said that “success knows no bounds.” Many of the women I know who suffer from PCOD and acne would never leave the house. I don’t ever allow the colour of my skin to get me down.
