Bayern Munich Announces Departure of Head Coach Thomas Tuchel Amidst Recent Struggles
Bayern had already suffered Champions League losses of 3-0 away to Leverkusen and 1-0 away to Lazio before rallying from behind to defeat Bochum 3-2 in the Bundesliga this past weekend.
The team announced on Wednesday that head coach Thomas Tuchel will be leaving at the conclusion of the current season as a result.
Thomas Müller, a forward for Bayern, stated, “We’re all in the same boat.” “With three losses in a row, it hasn’t been an easy time to be a Bayern player, so we’re very happy today,”
Tuchel Delighted as Kane Secures Victory for Bayern Munich; Tribute to Andreas Brehme Honored
Tuchel took a while to celebrate Kane’s game-winning goal, and only after Müller nudged him.
Tuchel said, “All I can say is that I’m proud of the players’ performance and effort. Harry scored, which was crucial for both of us, so it’s good. Though they have won a lot of games, Leverkusen has done so quite slowly. Now it’s our turn.”
Before kickoff, there was a moment of silence in honor of World Cup winner Andreas Brehme from 1990, who passed away earlier in the week. Bayern players also wore black armbands for the game.
Bayern had more opportunities, and Leipzig’s backup goalkeeper Janis Blaswich made a fantastic early stop to keep Kane out.
Kane’s Brace Leads Bayern Munich to Victory Despite Leipzig’s Second Half Surge; Tuchel’s Tactical Adjustments Pay Off
England’s coach Gareth Southgate was in attendance to watch Kane and defender Eric Dier compete. But Southgate must have also heard a few frustrated whistles from Bayern fans at halftime.
Tuchel found a metal box to sit on in the first half and looked for it so he could use it again in the second half.
Leipzig’s drive was evident after the interval as Amadou Haidara forced Manuel Neuer of Bayern to make a save. Mohamed Simakan then got close for Leipzig.
But in the 56th, Kane scored after Jamal Musiala executed a potent counterattack. Although Neuer stopped Benjamin Šeško from going one on one in the 61st minute, he was unable to stop the Slovenian from scoring in the 70th minute due to a trick by Leon Goretzka.
Kane prevented Bayern from losing by a significant margin.
Neuer declared, “We deserved to win because we played the better game.”
Var rejects Darmstadt
Last-place Darmstadt conceded an own goal and had two late scores disallowed by video assisted refereeing in a 1-1 draw with Werder Bremen.
In the seventh minute of injury time, Tim Skarke of Darmstadt thought he had won the game, but the goal was ruled out because Bremen goalkeeper Michael Zetterer hit Skarke in the arm while trying to clear the ball.
Skarke’s second goal in the 78th minute was disallowed for offside, but Christoph Zimmermann’s own goal in the 8th minute allowed Bremen to level the game.
Third-place Stuttgart was defeated 1–1 by visiting Cologne. It led Borussia Dortmund by six points coming into its match against Hoffenheim on Sunday.
Union Berlin and promoted Heidenheim both drew, 2-2, picking up a point apiece in their struggle to stay in the league.
Borussia Mönchengladbach also defeated Bochum, 5-2.
