Is the Bloodcurdling Hathras Stampede a Management Failure? Story behind the Kasganj based “Suraj pal a.k.a. Narayan Sakar Hari”.

In Hathras Stampede, an overwhelming amount of more than 121 people have died (115 from Uttar Pradesh and 6 from other states) and 35 people are seriously injured in a seminar held by the name of “Bhole Baba Satsang” under the leadership of “Suraj pal a.k.a. Narayan Sakar Hari”. The current reports give us the insight that there were 2.5 lakh people present in the seminar while having permission for only 80 thousand people.

After the seminar was over, Devotees was told to get “charno ki dhool” by Baba hence the whole crowd ran towards Baba’s exit but was stopped by his disciples known as “Sevakar” and the personal bodyguards of Baba known as the “Narayani Sena” when the crowd didn’t stop water canon was used to dismiss them which created chaos and cause of the slope present in the way it became impossible for the crowd to stop and that caused the stampede.

BACKGROUND OF NARAYAN SAKAR HARI I

Narayan Sakar Hari or Sakar Vishwa Hari or Bhole Baba or Suraj pal was born on 10^th May 1958 in Bahaduri village, Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh. He’s famously known as Bhole Baba in the nearby areas, he was born to a poor farmer family, he joined the Uttar Pradesh Police and served 17 stations and the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) during his service. He was charged with the allegation of sexual assault during his service which led to his removal from the Uttar Pradesh Police Force.

After this he settled back into his village that is Bahadur Nagar (Bahadur garh), in front of his field he set up an area where he claimed to cure all the illness with his magical and spiritual powers  for which he uses a bucket full of water and a fresh neem stick with leaves, slowly his magical powers became a hot topic in the nearby areas like Amanpur, Ganjdudwara, Nadrai, etc.

He was charged with the case of religious fraud in the year 2002 in Agra Police Station. He also had to go to prison in the above mentioned. Another case of land fraud is filed against him in Kanpur. He claims himself as an avatar of Hindu God, Lord Vishnu. And his wife Mateshwari Maiya is told be avatar of Goddess Laxmi.

OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS

Many FIRs have been filed against the Management Authority. Uttar Pradesh Police is in search of all the culprits. Still there is no FIR against Baba. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has visited the hospital and met with the victims of this tragic incident. He also held a press conference in which he assured that the government will seriously look into this matter with the help of senior judges and retired IAS officers. In his statement, he mentioned that it is still a matter of finding that whether this is an accident or a conspiracy, he guaranteed that the miscreants won’t be pardoned.

Opposition leader Akhilesh Yadav of Samajwadi Party visited the location and accused the government for this tragedy, he said that this was caused by the negligence of the authorities. Currently Bhole Baba is also nowhere to be found.

STATEMENT OF LOCALS

• Baba have been fooling people from a long 20 years, many of my knowns was also trapped by Baba’s fake claims. According to me, people should stay awake about all this sort of people who deceit in name of God. -Karan Singh,56y/o, Kasganj.
