While addressing the national symposium Union Minister Amit Shah emphasized the need to promote organic products through cooperatives and said that NCOL is the platform for those who want to grow organically.

National Cooperative Organic Limited (NCOL)

NCOL and Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Limited (BBSL) were set up under the Multi-State Cooperative Organics Limited Act, 2002 on the 9th of August 2023 with the approval of the Union Cabinet.

This comes under the Ministry of Cooperation and helps in promoting organic farming. The main focus of NCOL is on the production, testing, certification, procurement, processing, storage, branding, labeling and packaging of seeds.

In this way, it will also help in achieving the objective of “Sahakar-se-Samriddhi” through the inclusive growth model. The members would benefit by getting better prices through higher production of crops by using the High Yielding Variety (HYV) seeds.

It will help in the promotion of exports and will encourage trade in all types of goods and help in the promotion of the “Make in India” initiative, thereby leading to “Aatmanirbhar Bharat”. NCOL is one of the three multi-state national-level cooperatives with the other two being the cooperatives for seeds and exports.
