Several people have been trapped after a hotel collapses in the village of western Germany’s picturesque Moselle wine valley.

Reports state that 14 people were in the building in Krov at the hour of the collapse where two people have died but the emergency operations have managed to rescue one man, a child and two women Wednesday morning but others still remain trapped.

The fire inspector Jorg Teus identified the dead as a man and a woman who were injured immediately as a direct result of building destruction. A 23 year old woman from Urk and her infant son were saved earlier this morning and were instantly taken to the hospital. Her husband was also rescued later but his condition is still not yet known.

More than 250 emergency services were deployed for the rescue, including police, rescue dog teams, firefighters, medics, etc. The trapped people are able to contact others outside through their cell phone so their authorities are aware of their location underneath the collapsed building.

The construction was being carried out on the building until today and the three houses in the surrounding area have been evacuated as well to avoid further problems and destruction as well.

A local broadcaster stated that the building in the Western Germany dates back to the 1600s. It was also updated back in the 1980s with an additional floor, making it a two storey hotel.

This valley is also famous for tourist destinations and for its vineyards and the old towns as well.

There are high chances for the building to collapse even further, therefore, the other nearby residents have also been told to evacuate the place in order to be safe.
