Bollywood couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are celebrating the first birthday of their cherished daughter Raha Kapoor on November 6, 2023. Even though the couple hasn’t yet disclosed their daughter’s face, whenever they appeared in interviews, they shared a lot of fascinating and thrilling information about their little one.

The Raazi star in an interview mentions that since Raha is their first born, they want to keep everything private and enjoy little cherishable moments whilst they last. She also mentioned that they will make mistakes as it is their first time and altogether a new experience in life and do not prefer the media around for the same. Even though we have not had a chance to see baby Raha’s face, there are certain moments when the star parents have mentioned their daughter in interviews. On the occasion of Raha’s birthday, let’s check out some of the instances that Alia and Ranbir revealed endearing information about their daughter Raha.

RAHA KAPOOR’S NAME REVEAL

On November 24, 2023, Alia Bhatt took over her Instagram and revealed the name of her daughter. She also mentioned that the name was chosen by baby Raha’s paternal grandmother Neetu Kapoor.

She posted a picture of herself and her husband Ranbir Kapoor holding the baby with focus on the background which had a picture of the jersey with the baby’s name ‘Raha’ written on it. She also wrote in her caption that Raha’s name, which her wonderful and wise Dadi chose, has so many lovely connotations. In its most basic form, the word “Raha” means “divine path” in Swahili, “joy,” “clan” in Sanskrit, “rest, comfort, relief,” and “peace” in Arabic, which also denotes happiness, freedom, and bliss.”

She added, “And true to her name, we felt it all from the moment we held her!” We are grateful to Raha for creating our family; it seems like we are just getting started.”

ALIA ON RAHA KAPOOR’S EYELASHES

In a Vogue interview, Alia remembered asking her husband Ranbir to look at their daughter Raha Kapoor’s eyelashes as soon as she was born. The National Award-winning actress revealed the cause, saying that she does not have beautiful long lengthy lashes like her husband.  After which the first thing she checked as soon as she saw Raha was if she had long lashes. Baby Raha had her father’s long lovely lashes to which the actress reacted by saying touchwood.

RANBIR ON WRITING EMAIL TO RAHA KAPOOR

In an earlier October 2018 interview on Hauser pens’ YouTube channel, Ranbir Kapoor disclosed that Alia Bhatt has been writing their daughter Raha Kapoor emails on a regular basis, and he expressed his wish to follow likewise. Ranbir mentioned that since Alia writes her an email everyday, he should follow suit too.

RAHA KAPOOR’S FIRST WORDS

Ranbir Kapoor recently shared with his fans on Zoom that his little daughter has started to crawl, recognise objects, and show a lot of affection to everyone in her surroundings. He further mentioned that these days, she has been attempting to pronounce “Ma and Pa” and he feels like a proud parent.

RANBIR ON BEING RAHA KAPOOR’S FAVOURITE

Ranbir was asked in one of the interviews about Raha, Taimur and Jeh’s playdates. He said of Raha’s meeting with Taimur and Jeh that although they had visited each other’s homes, Raha was still too young to recognise faces. Interestingly, he said, “She’s barely identifying me now, and I have to say that I am her favourite, more than mama (Alia) also.” Feeling happy about this, he showed his humorous side, revealing that he had been playing ‘politics’ at home, telling the nanny to always say ‘papa’ in Raha’s ear so that she would say it before ‘mama.’

RANBIR ON RAHA KAPOOR’S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Plans for Raha’s first birthday were revealed by the Brahmastra actor during the same Zoom conversation with fans. He shared that Him (and Alia) are excited to throw her a small birthday celebration at home with just family and cousins.
