The Global Renewable Energy (Re-invest) 2024 was inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister
Narendra Modi in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar district.
The conference is hosted by the Ministry of New & Renewable energy (MNRE) for three days and
is going to anticipate of drawing over 1000 delegates. The conference is inclusive of influential
figures from the Government, Industry as well as Financial sectors.
Prahlad Joshi, the union minister for new and renewable energy, Bhupendra Patel, the chief
minister of Gujarat, Chandrababu Naidu, and the chief ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Madhya
Pradesh, Goa, and Chhattisgarh were also present at the event.
Speaking on behalf of the occasion, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi noted that India is not only the
world’s fifth largest economy, but it is also the one that is growing at the fastest rate. He said
that under PM Modi’s leadership, India is leading the way in renewable energy. Under PM Modi’s
leadership, Gujarat became the leader in the green energy sector, and all of Gujarat’s chief
ministers played a significant part in the advancement of renewable energy.
After taking office as India’s prime minister, he launched a global initiative to build a more
sustainable and clean world, saying Under Prime Minister Modi’s direction, Gujarat is a pioneer
in the renewable energy sector, according to Minister Joshi Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra
Patel. He also noted that the state’s green hydrogen and renewable energy policies demonstrate
the government’s dedication to a sustainable future.
Over 50,000 megawatts of renewable energy have been installed in Gujarat, accounting for 54%
of the state’s total energy capacity. Gujarat is the nation’s leader in the installation of solar
electricity, he claimed. PM Modi emphasized the goal of producing 3 million therms per year or 3
million three million spins of green hydrogen, establishing Gujarat as the forefront of India’s
green hydrogen revolution. He continued, “Today, Gujarat is becoming a top location for
investment in the green energy sector.”
The mission 500 gigawatt, which highlights India’s strategy to greatly increase renewable energy
capacity by 2030, is the main focus of RE-INVEST 2024. India seeks to further solidify its
leadership in the global energy transition as the fourth-largest nation in the world in terms of
installed renewable energy capacity.
Australia, Denmark, Germany, and Norway are among the event’s important international
partners this year. Furthermore, there will be active participation from Indian states including
Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh.
Along with certain groups led by ministers from Germany and Denmark, high level delegations
from the US, UK, the European Union, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, and Hong
Kong will also be present.
