There are rumors in the air of the Bollywood industry. Word on the street is that the Bollywood maestro and mastermind of glamour, Karan Johar is cooking up a new romantic comedy starring Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor.
In August this year, discussions surrounding the collaboration of the two individuals surfaced when they were observed leaving from the office of the Casting Director Mukesh Chhabra located in Andheri.
Ibrahim, Khushi and their Debut
Ibhram Ali khan, one of the most dashing and loved star-kid of Bollywood, son of none other than Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, is rumored to pair up with the newly rising star Khushi Kapoor, the daughter of the loving Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. Ibrahim and Khushi have already set foot in the industry, that being, Ibrahim with a thriller set in Kashmir titled “Sarzameen” co-starring with Kajol and Prithiviraj, which is yet to be released. And Khushi with her latest release “The Archies” where she played the role of “Betty Cooper” co-starring with the up and coming actors Suhana Khan, the daughter of Shah Rukh Khan and Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan.
Renowned for his contributions to the film industry, Karan Johar has earned widespread acclaim as a filmmaker celebrated for introducing emerging talents. His notable career as a director and producer is marked by the successful launch of some of the industry’s finest actors, such as Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt, Lakshay Lalwani, Tara Sutaria, Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, Rohit Saraf and numerous other promising talents.
KJO’s thinking of making it a digital-only project through his digital team, Dharmatics. The movie will start filming next year, and it will be directed by Shuana Gautam.
The movie is currently in the pre-production groove and the makers are on the lookout to assemble a stellar cast! They are discussing with a top online streaming platform for the rights to show the film. The film, yet to get a title, has the creators delving into a brainstorming session for something extraordinary.
Seems like it is going to be a classic Bollywood romantic comedy, with a vibrant narrative, thence, Johar and his team believe it is a tailor-made for the OTT platforms rather than the big screen.
Shauna Gautam, famous for her previous collaboration with Karan Johar as an associate director on the film “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani” and as an assistant director on Rajkumar Hirani’s “Sanju” sprinkles an extra dash of excitement onto the project with her proven finesse in the industry. Having spread her magic on previous bollywood productions, Gautam is set to dazzle us with her directorial brilliance in this romantic comedy extravaganza.
In the ever-changing era of digital delight, Karan Johar’s savvy decision to present this cinematic jewel as an OTT original highlights the industry’s keen adaptibility to evolving audience tastes. As the project gets more attention, Bollywood fans are excited to see this new love story presented in a way that suits the digital era.
