ICC Changes Pakistan Cricket Team Hotel Ahead of Game with India

The International Cricket Council changed the Pakistan cricket team to a nearby hotel in order to shorten their travel time to the stadium after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi voiced his displeasure with the squad’s distance from the field.

Sources close to Geo News claim that Naqvi complained to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and persuaded the World Cup organizing committee to move the Pakistani team’s accommodation. Pakistan will now only be five minutes away from the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York thanks to the PCB chief’s intervention. The hotel was ninety minutes distant from the location, according to prior reports.

Pakistan will play their group matches in New York on Sunday against India, its bitter rival, and on June 11 at the same location against Canada. The PCB source spoke with anonymity, and was not allowed to speak with the media.

The hotel where the Indian cricket team is staying during its three group games in New York is only ten minutes away from the stadium. Wednesday was India’s first victory in that contest.

On Thursday in Dallas, Pakistan will kick off their campaign against the co-hosts, the United States. India defeated its neighbors in the tournament’s previous edition thanks to Virat Kohli’s heroics.

Since the tournament began, India and Pakistan have faced off seven times. The Men in Blue have won five games against their bitter opponent, lost one, and drawn one.

On Sunday in New York, both teams will add a new chapter to their rivalry.
