In a recent BJP rally at Vemulawada, Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged that the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has stopped attacking his government for being close to industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani ever since election season began. Modi challenged the Congress to be transparent about any financial contributions they may have received from these industrialists.
In recent times, the Prime Minister pointed out a change in the behavior of Rahul Gandhi, suggesting that he’s been emphasizing certain points less since election season began. Previously, there were frequent mentions of ‘five industrialists’ and the names ‘Ambani’ and ‘Adani’ in his speeches. However, Modi noted a conspicuous silence on these fronts once the elections were announced. He raised questions about any potential financial dealings between these industrialists and the Congress party, asking if there were significant sums of ‘black money’ exchanged. Modi challenged the Congress to explain this apparent shift in rhetoric and urged them to be accountable to the public.
Several members of the Congress party have responded to this accusation, asserting that the BJP is merely resorting to unfounded claims due to their apprehension of an imminent loss in the upcoming general elections.
Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress party, suggested that Modi’s comment served as a clear signal regarding the potential outcome of the elections. According to Kharge, this indicates a sense of vulnerability within Modi’s leadership. Kharge made these remarks on X.
“Let me remind you Prime Minister Ji. From 3 April until now (8 May), Rahul Gandhi ji has spoken about Gautam Adani 103 times and 30 times about Mukesh Ambani,” shared Congress leader Pawan Khera in a video posted on social media platform X.
Additionally, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra observed that By the third phase, citizens have managed to disrupt Mod’s pace, which is why he seems out of sync with his allies.
In response, the Wayanad leader Rahul Gandhi uploaded a video on x (formerly known as Twitter). Rahul Gandhi pointed out that Prime Minister Modi usually discusses these two businessmen in private conversations, but Wednesday’s rally marked the first time he mentioned them in public.
Gandhi then questioned the prime minister, asking if he had personal experience with the businessmen giving money in trucks. He urged for a swift investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), without any fear.
Asserting their commitment to India’s poor, Gandhi pledged to allocate the same amount of money to them as Modi allegedly gave to Adani and Ambani. He outlined plans for schemes like the Mahalaxmi Yojana and Pehli Naukri Pakki Yojana, aiming to create millions of successful individuals. Gandhi contrasted the BJP-led government’s creation of 22 billionaires with their vision of making millions of lakhpatis (people with assets worth lakhs).
