Among the departed people in the accident in Hyderabad were two women and a baby who was only four days old.

A ruinous life-threatening tragedy took place in Hyderabad’s Bazarghat, Nampally area where a four-storeyed housing complex was caught in a dangerous mishap fire on Monday, resulting in at least nine people dead, while others were injured badly.
Reportedly, at least 21 people were rescued out of which 8 fell unconscious due to the toxic flames. They were instantly shifted to the nearby Osmania General Hospital, located nearly 4 kilometres from Bazarghat, Nampally.
Initially, during the early morning hours of the accident, it was reported that 6 individuals were found to be dead as reported by ANI. According to the updates now, the death toll has risen to 9 individuals.
How was the Hyderabad fire mishap caused?
The unfortunate accident ignited when the repair work of a car was on its way towards completion in Godown located below the four-storeyed housing complex, that is on the ground floor. It was when the spark, that was generated during the repair of the car, got ignited by the chemicals and diesel stored in the drums or barrels and turned into a heavy tremendous blaze. The fire took no time to spread from the ground floor Godown to all over the building causing damage to lives and lifestyles.
After receiving the alert at 9:35 am, the fire department moved quickly to the scene, sending out several fire tenders.
Both the origin of the fire and the extent of the damage are still under investigation. To identify the cause of the fire, authorities are conducting a comprehensive investigation into the incident and adhering to strict protocols.
There is presently an in-depth evaluation of the damage, taking into account collateral effects and structural integrity. For clarification on the incident, the community is awaiting official findings.
Government officials’ response to the incident
The Hindu reported that Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, the president of the Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Minister K.T. Rama Rao, the minister of municipal administration and urban development, visited the scene of the accident.
The Central Zone DCP of Hyderabad, Venkateshwar Rao, also visited the site of the mishap in the morning. According to Venkateshwar Rao, a spark from a car repair on the stilt floor caused the fire to start at around 9:30 am. This section contained a large number of chemical drums, which added to the fire’s intensity.
NDRF and Firefighters to the rescue
The fire was successfully extinguished by the fire department after they arrived on the scene promptly. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was notified and two teams were sent out for extensive rescue operations, according to DCP Venkateshwar Rao. The firefighters extinguished the fire with incredible efficiency in just one hour.
In all, twenty-one of the individuals who were stranded inside the structure were saved out of which eight fell unconscious. Following emergency medical attention, they were all brought immediately to nearby Osmania General Hospital.
ANI also posted a video where they showed how quickly and bravely the residents were saved by the firefighters. ANI mentioned “Daring rescue of a child and woman amid massive fire in a storage godown located in an apartment complex in Bazarghat, Nampally of Hyderabad.”
To curb the further enhancement and spreading of the fire, about twelve barrels or drums and thirty-eight jerry cans filled with chemicals and diesels, that primarily triggered the spark to convert into life-threatening blaze, were promptly relocated or shifted from the building and strategically positioned outside. This proactive measure aimed to diminish the potential for further escalation of the fire.
Victims of the melancholy incident
A 4- 4-day-old child and two women lost their lives after being victims of the brutal blaze. The nine individuals who lost their precious lives in the mishap are:

- Faiza Sameen -26 years old
- Hasib-ur-Rahman – 32 years old
- Tahoora Fareen – 35 years old
- Rehana Sultana – 50 years old
- Nikath Sultana – 55 years old
- Md. Azam – 58 years old
- Md. Zakeer Hussain – 66 years old
Three more people were injured. Firefighters rescued 21 people and safely escorted them to the hospitals in the ambulance.
