Cricket will make Olympic debut in 2028

Cricket will make its Olympic debut in the LA Games in 2028, which is good news for cricket lovers throughout the world. In addition to having a substantial economic impact, this is also anticipated to draw new cricket enthusiasts and support the growth of the sport’s worldwide infrastructure, according to analysts.

IOC Member Nita Ambani responded to cricket’s selection as an Olympic sport for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles by saying, “I am thrilled that IOC members have chosen to incorporate Cricket as an Olympic Sport! One of the most adored and second-most-watched sports in the world is cricket. Cricket is more than simply a sport to the 1.4 billion Indians; it’s a religion! I’m therefore thrilled that this landmark resolution was approved during the 141st IOC Session, which is taking place right here in our nation’s capital of Mumbai. Cricket’s presence in the Olympics will increase interest in the Olympic Movement in newer geographical areas. Additionally, it helps to increase cricket’s expanding global popularity.

With the International Olympic Committee (IOC) accepting the inclusion of 5 games in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, cricket will return to the Olympic Games after a 128-year absence. Cricket had already been suggested for the world’s largest sporting spectacle by the IOC executive board.
