INDIA Bloc Wins Big in Bypolls, Secures 10 Seats; BJP Wins 2 and an Independent Candidate Wins in Bihar

The recent bypolls in seven Indian states have seen the INDIA bloc emerge victorious, winning 10 out of 13 Assembly seats. The BJP clinches only 2 seat out of 13 seats.

West Bengal

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) conquers all four seats, grabbing 3 from the BJP. This marks a significant victory for the TMC, which has been facing challenges in the state.The BJP’s losses in West Bengal were particularly notable, as they had previously held three of the four seats. The TMC’s dominance in the state is expected to continue, given their strong performance in the bypolls.

Himachal Pradesh

The Congress won two of the three seats, with a significant victory in Dehra, where CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s wife, Kamlesh Thakur, was elected.The BJP managed to win only one seat, Hamirpur, which was previously held by them. This result is seen as a minor setback for the BJP in a state where they had been performing well.

Uttarakhand

The INDIA Bloc reserved the Badrinath seat and also won the Manglaur seat from the BJP. This marks a significant gain for the Congress in a state where they had been facing challenges.The BJP’s loss in Manglaur is seen as a blow to their prospects in the state, especially given the Congress’s strong performance in the bypolls.

Punjab

The Mohinder Bhagat from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won the Jalandhar West seat, marking a significant victory for the party in a state where they had been struggling to gain traction.The BJP and the Congress did not win any seats in Punjab, with the AAP’s victory being a major boost to their prospects in the state.

Tamil Nadu

The DMK’s Anniyur Siva retained the Vikravandi seat, maintaining their hold on the constituency. This result is seen as a continuation of the DMK’s dominance in the state

Bihar

An Independent candidate Shankar Singh won the Rupauli seat, defeating candidates from the JD(U) and RJD. This result is seen as a significant upset in a state where the JD(U) and RJD had been expected to perform well.Madhya PradeshThe BJP won the Amarwara seat, which was previously held by the Congress. This result is seen as a minor victory for the BJP in a state where they had been performing well.
