After the big clash between NDA and INDIA in the Prime Minister elections in which NDA took the lead. BJP from NDA won 240 seats in the election and with their allies Janta Dal (United) and Telugu Desham Party, they made the government with Narendra Damodar das Modi as their leader and took oath on June 9th,2024.

By-poll Election
The bypolls of the 13 Assembly seats all across the seven states are being closely watched as a test of the strength of the INDIA bloc and the NDA coalition. These bypoll took place for the first time after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which saw the BJP falling short of a majority and the opposition bloc, INDIA, gaining strength.

INDIA Bloc:
The INDIA bloc has won 2 seats for sure and is leading on other 9 seats. In Jalandhar West of Punjab, AAP candidate Mohinder Bhagat won by over 23,000 votes, defeating BJP nominee Sheetal Angural. In Dehra of Himachal Pradesh, Kamlesh Thakur, wife of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, won the Dehra seat by a margin of 7,860 votes.
NDA
The NDA bloc has won at least one seat and are leading in 2 other seats. BJP’s candidate Ashish Sharma is leading on the Hamirpur seat of Himachal Pradesh.BJP’s ally Janata Dal (United) of Nitish Kumar is leading in the Rupauli seat of Bihar
Leading Seats
The INDIA bloc is ahead in several other seat which includes all the four candidates of Trinamool Congress leading in West Bengal, with BJP’S candidate trailing behind. In Himachal Pradesh, Congress candidates are leading in two seats, while BJP’s Ashish Sharma is ahead in Hamirpur. From Uttarakhand which shares its eastern border with Nepal, Congress candidates are leading in both Badrinath and Manglaur seats. Congress’s leader Dheeran Shah Invati from Madhya Pradesh has secured a lead of over 4,000 votes in the Amarwar seat. In Bihar JD(U)’s Kaladhar Prasad Mandal is leading in Rupauli. Tamil Nadu’s DMK’s Anniyur Siva is leading by over 10,000 votes in the Vikravandi assembly seat.
Analysis
These bypoll elections are very necessary as they provide the current landscape of where India’s political liking is inclined. INDIA bloc performance particularly in states like West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh shows the growing strength of their alliance and unity in the opposition.
The NDA bloc is certainly not as dominant, but it does that NDA still have a prominent significance in particular places.
Implications
The results of these bypolls will have significant implications for future elections. The INDIA bloc’s success in multiple states could embolden opposition parties to further consolidate their efforts against the BJP.
