India’s huge success at the Asian games and road ahead

India has scored exceptionally well at the 19th Asian games held in Hangzhou ,China. India gained a total of 107 medals in which 28 were Gold, 38 silver and 41 Bronze. This is a historic win and showcases the efforts and dedication of Indian athletes and their coaches. The best performance was given in Shooting in which they got 21 medals.

India also performed exceptionally well in kabaddi, Archery,Squash and cricket.

Sports like Tennis, Badminton, Hockey were also able to fetch medals which is a big success for India at the Games.

India also displayed its talent in new categories like Chess,Boxing , roller skating and Wushu. This reflects the growing status of Indian sports in Asia.

The government has launched various schemes to support the sportspersons at various stages of their careers making sure that the talent thrives and India is represented at highest levels across the world. The Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Fund for sportspersons offers financial aid to the sportspersons who are suffering from financial hardships and it provides them with medical
assistance.

With International championships in Mind the government has revealed another scheme which is The target Olympic Podium scheme has been unveiled.
In this scheme the government gives out of pocket allowance to the athletes to get them good training.

“Khelo India” is a good scheme for the young athletes who wish to build their career in sports. They are selected at National level and provided scholarships for sports.

Pension Scheme to India’s Athletes

A pension scheme is also available to athletes so that they can live their post retirement life with Honour.

Motivation for International atheletes

To motivate the atheletes who have done well at international level the government offers cash rewards to them and their coaches.

National sports awards are also given to people with exceptional talent in the field of sports.

All this shows that India has a vast amount of talent trapped in its sports. Indians are doing exceptionally well and if provided better chances can bring even more medals and honor to the

country.
