iPhone 16 Update: Apple India Website Goes Down Hours Before Pre-Bookings 

The Apple India website went down just a few hours before the booking of the newly launched iPhone 16 series, leaving iPhone fans immensely awaiting their chance to purchase the latest smartphone on a temporary hold. Despite this disruption, the new iPhone 16 series continues to generate a wave of excitement among iPhone users. 

Notably, this is not a website outage or technical issue as Apple’s online store traditionally crashes even before an event. The company introduced its latest iPhones globally earlier this week.

iPhone 16 Series: Availability Date and Time

During the ‘Glowtime Event’ on Monday, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that the new series features models built specially to support Apple’s generative AI offering, called ‘Apple Intelligence’.

Apple users can pre-order the new iPhone series on Apple India’s official website from September 13, 2024. They can pre-book the new series post 5:30 PM on September 13. Reports suggested that these pre-ordered iPhone sets will be delivered on or after September 20.

iPhone 16 Specifications: Design With Latest Features 

The newly launched iPhone series offers various updates ranging from its camera capture button to Apple’s AI feature, which is available later this year. The base model iPhone 16 is launched with a 6.1-inch screen, whereas the 16 Plus comes in a 6.7-inch size. For the next version, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will offer 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch, respectively. 

The iPhone 16 has advanced connectivity options. For better picture clarity, the camera system has improved low-light performance, an advanced zooming feature, and a Camera Control button for quick access to camera settings. Additionally, it promises better and longer battery life with faster charging and a robust A18 Bionic chip with a 6-core CPU and 5-core GPU. 

iPhone 16 series Prices and Deals in India

The Cupertino-based tech giant is offering the standard variant of the iPhone 16 (128GB model) at Rs 79,900. Below are the prices for all models and their variants.

1. The standard iPhone 16 will be available with three storage types – 128GB, 256GB and 512GB;  at prices of Rs 79,900, Rs 89,999, and Rs 1,09,900, respectively.

2. The second enhanced variant is the iPhone 16 Plus comes in three storages—128GB, 256GB, and 512GB—offering prices for Rs 89,900, Rs 99,999, and Rs 1,19,900, respectively. 

3. The iPhone 16 Pro will be available in four storages—128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB; pricing at Rs 1,19,900, Rs 1,29,999, Rs 1,49,999, and Rs 1,69,900, respectively 

4. The iPhone 16 Pro Max offers three storages— 256GB, 512GB and 1TB; at the cost for Rs 1,44,900, Rs 1,64, 999, and Rs 1,84,900, respectively. 

For Exclusive deals in India, Apple offers some convenient payment methods. Customers will get an instant discount of Rs 5,000, while using credit or debits cards from banks such as American Express, Axis Bank, and ICICI Bank on pre-booking the iPhone.

As per reports, it is expected preorders will open soon as the Apple India store is set to resume operations within a few hours. Even for prebookings, you can also explore online market portals like Flipkart and Amazon, as well as various retail outlets across the country. Notably, shipping for these devices will start on or after September 20, as per Apple’s release timeline.
