In the recent run-off Presidential election of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian was elected to be the president. Masoud Pezeshkian is a Cardiac Surgeon and a reformist politician. He was leading the Ministry of Health and Medical Education from 2001-2005 in the government of Mohammed Khatami. He won the runoff election with 54.76% of the popular vote. He’ll be joining as the president of Iran in early August. He is 69 years old which makes him the oldest person to be in chair as President of Iran.
