Yet, again Flanagan is hinting at a prequel for one of his works with adaptation from horror writer H.P Lovecraft.

The character of Dani from The Haunting of Bly Manor to Steven Crane in The Haunting of the Hill House is a portrayal of one or the other character from horror classics.
But the character who has more vagueness among all of Flanagan’s characters is the character of Arthur Gordon Pym. Pym, played by Mark Hamill, is an advocate for the Usher family and is based on Edgar Allan Poe’s classic The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket.
Transcribed in 1838, The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket also loosely inspired Lovecraft to create the story of At the Mountain of Madness, which makes it a perfect prequel to the story of the Ushers.
Will Pym get his Lovecraft narration?
In a brief time frame, Roderick Usher recalls exactly what Pym has stated about his past, indicating that he joined the Transglobe Expedition when he was a lot younger. The head of the Usher family points out Pym’s experiences on the journey, which molded him into the person he is today.
Since Flanagan creates stories through mix and match, Lovecraft’s At the Mountain of Madness would weave a unique story for the character of Arthur Pym.
It would paint a complete picture of Pym’s character to get a loosely adapted Lovecraftian prequel, with Mark Hamill as its lead.

Unfortunately, for its fans, it may sound bad as it seems like an uneven possibility for The Fall of the House of Usher to get a prequel since Mike Flanagan parted ways with Netflix. However, with several other movies and projects, he may not have enough time on his hands to stitch up a prequel for Pym and his back story.
However, fans hope to see a standalone adaptation of At the Mountain of Madness combined with the elements of Lovecraft’s works, featuring Mark Hamill as the narrator.
