On Wednesday, the trailer for “Pippa,” a film centered around the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, was unveiled. Helmed by Raja Krishna Menon, the movie is set to premiere on Prime Video on November 10. This wartime epic unfolds a tale of patriotism and valor, chronicling the maturation of Captain Balram Mehta (played by Ishaan) from the 45 Cavalry Tank Squadron. Following the mission, Captain Balram Singh Mehta took charge of the squadron after their leader met his end.

About Pippa

“Pippa” is a film adaptation of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta’s book “The Burning Chaffees,” with a screenplay penned by Ravinder Randhawa, Tanmay Mohan, and Menon. Ishaan portrays Captain Mehta, a member of the 45th Cavalry tank squadron that engaged in battles on India’s eastern front during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971, culminating in the birth of Bangladesh. The movie’s title pays homage to the PT-76, an amphibious tank affectionately known as “Pippa,” which holds significant prominence in the storyline.

Portraying Captain Balram Mehta, Ishaan’s character heads to the battlefield following the declaration of war against Pakistan by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1971.

Mrunal Thakur, Priyanshu Painyuli, and Soni Razdan play crucial roles in the film. The trailer offers brief glimpses of how Ishaan’s character relies on ‘Pippa’ during the wartime conflict. “Pippa” serves as a reimagining of the Battle of Garibpur, a significant engagement between India and Pakistan that played a crucial role in Bangladesh’s quest for independence.
