According to recent media reports and sources, Israel agreed to A five-hour cease-fire in Gaza so that Egypt could send humanitarian aid to the coastal enclave, the Rafah border which is the only crossing point between Gaza and Egypt was to be re-opened to allow entry of humanitarian assistance to Gaza and also to evacuate foreigners from the conflict zone. However later it denied to cooperate.

Egypt says that it was perplexed by Israel’s denial after having received confirmation previously. According to the sources, Hundred Tons of aid from NGOs and several countries were waiting on trucks in the nearby Egyptian town of Al-Arish on Monday for permission to enter Gaza.

Also, Hamas official Izzat El-Reshiq told the media that there is no truth to the media reports that Rafah would be reopening and that there would be a ceasefire in Gaza.
