Israel-Hamas conflict enters its seventh week and India has sent the second batch of humanitarian aid to victims in Gaza to maintain humanity and protect the lives of innocent people amid a situation of grave danger.
The war between Israel-Hamas continues to accelerate and Israel has further retaliated with massive strikes on Gaza. Thus, further escalating the war and tensions between Israeli forces and Hamas militant group which led to the killing of more than 12,000 people in due course of the conflict. India emerged in the scene and dispatched a second batch of humanitarian aid in Gaza city.

India’s second batch of aid amidst Israel-Hamas conflict
India’s External Minister, S Jaishankar took to social media platform, X and posted that India is continuously providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Palestine for their wellbeing and welfare. Further Mr. S Jaishankar, informed that aircraft named IAF_MCC C17 has departed from El-Arish airport in Egypt with 32 tonnes of humanitarian aid materials.
El-Arish airport is approximately 45 km away from the Rafah crossing which is the only crossing point to provide such aid into Gaza city.

India had earlier provided the first batch of humanitarian aid to the people of Palestian on October 22, with 32 tonnes of disaster relief products and 6.5 tonnes of medical aid. The delivered aiding material included life saving drugs, sanitary products, food items, water purification substances, sleeping bags, surgical items and other essential utilities.
The first attack was made by Hamas militant group on October 7 which had killed around 1200 Israelis and to counter attack this, Israel also launched a series of massive strikes over Palestine and the Israel-Hamas conflict continued and the situation got worse for innocent people living in both the regions.

Largest hospital became ‘Death Zone’
The largest hospital in Gaza named Al-Shifa has been struggling to remain operationalized in time of escalating Israel-Hamas conflict. The Health Ministry in Gaza informed the media that victims of the attacks have been dying due to power cuts in the hospital caused by fuel shortages in the city.
However, Israel presented their counter argument on this and argued that Israeli troops had found the vehicles full of weaponry in the complex of the hospital and regarded the hospital area as the uncovered site for Hamas militant group.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) had sent their team to Gaza city to carry out the assessment of the war site and the WHO report claimed that Gaza’s largest hospital has become the ‘Death Zone’ with huge destructive conditions for the livelihood and property.
The World Health Organisation further informed about the condition in Gaza and said that amid the attacks from Israeli troops most of the patients were evacuated earlier from the hospital premises but still around 291 patients with 32 babies were left in the hospital who were in extremely critical conditions.
Amid the growing tensions in the conflict, India’s commitment to provide humanitarian aid to Palestinians shows India’s value towards peace and stability. This act shows that India keeps humanity above anything. The delivery of humanitarian aid to some extent will uplift and support people in times of grave dangers and will provide a safer environment to them with support from essential products to sustain one’s life. However, it is important that the Israel-Hamas conflict must be resolved at the earliest to allow people to protect them and will eventually bring peace and stability in the international arena.
