The story which has been developing on a day to day basis, 7th October onwards, has given the common people a perspective of the geo-politics, the manners of interpretation of a particular incident in various ways.

This has been because Information and Communication Technology has developed in an almost immaculate way and has reached out to the masses. The independent journalists as well as the established news-reporting agencies from across the world have gathered the information, matched the opinions and stances of their government officials and produced necessary journalistic work which is destined to go down in the books of history.

The Count

The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas has divided the countries in blocs, 128 countries which had agreed for an immediate ceasefire in favor of Palestine as the number of Palestinian lives which have been lost in a manufactured human crisis has crossed 9000 people. The ceasefire is needed more crucially to save the Palestinian civilian lives as has been evidenced by various news agencies covering the war.

On the other hand, countries from the West such as the USA, have sided with the side of Israel as the Hamas terrorists’ had killed around 1400 Israeli lives, and their stance has been in favor of an all-out attack on terrorism. Such a division in the opinions made the resolution for ceasefire fall.

In the most recent development, instead of calling off the war because of the enormous humanitarian loss, there have been traceable signs of intentional escalation. It has been communicated by the Israeli media that their troops have surrounded Gaza.

According to Gazan health officials, multiple individuals have died as a result of Israeli airstrikes on two refugee camps in Gaza yesterday. The bombardment is becoming more intense in response to pleas for a humanitarian halt. Within 48 hours, military personnel were anticipated to enter Gaza City, according to Israeli media reports.

The most recent development talks about the Israel’s military announcement that it had surrounded Gaza City and split the embattled coastal strip in two, this surveillance after cutting off the supply of basic amenities to the civilians of Gaza represents the manner in which the Israeli army and the Benjamin Netanyahu’s government perceives the innocent civilians of Gaza.

The phone lines in Gaza have been cut down for the third time, this means the lack of communication has also resulted in the distorted reporting of the exact events that are taking place in the space which is highly ruptured in the geographical and humanitarian sense.

How many people have died? The Health Ministry in Gaza reports that over 4,000 of the over 9,700 Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes were youngsters and minors. Over 140 Palestinians have lost their lives in Israeli incursions and acts of brutality in the occupied West Bank. In Israel, the Hamas attack has claimed the lives of nearly 1,400 individuals, and the militant organization has captured 242 more.

Conclusion

While trying to look at the possibility of a full blown war in which more countries are to get involved, a crucial official of the USA has started touring in and around countries which can be speculated to extend their support to either side and thus get involved in the war more directly. Such a visit indicated towards the fathoming of what the cost of a war is to look like in the 21st century.

During an unexpected visit to Iraq on Sunday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani about the dangers of the Israel-Hamas conflict being worse. Blinken traveled to Ankara later that day in order to meet with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
