Amidst the ongoing war between Hamas and Israel, there’s a higher chance of Hezbollah joining the war to fight with Hamas against Israel.

It has been a week since the unprecedented surprise attack on Israel by Hamas, a terrorist group. In these seven days, a lot has happened on both sides; the world witnessed the inhumane and barbaric atrocities of savage Hamas, and civilian lives were lost on both sides in huge numbers. The death toll in Israel stands at 1,300 people, including 222 soldiers, the highest since the 1973 war. In Gaza, more than 1,500 people have been killed and 6,612 wounded.
The numbers are rising with every passing hour, and the situation will deteriorate from what it is at present if Hezbollah, a terrorist organization in Lebanon, joins to help Hamas attack Israel. If this happens, two fronts will be opened: an already existing Hamas in Gaza on the south side and Hezbollah in Lebanon on the north side.
Will Hezbollah join the war?
Hezbollah, like Hamas, is supported by Iran and is close to joining the war between Israel and Hamas. While Israel’s government and military leaders weigh their next move, they are closely watching Hezbollah on Israel’s northern border. The Israel Defense Forces have sent troops reinforcements amidst growing concern about Hezbollah opening a second front.
Hezbollah is a much more powerful terrorist organization than Hamas, with an arsenal of thousands of rockets and missiles capable of hitting any part of Israel. With thousands of missiles and rockets at their disposal, they also have underground tunnels and anti-tank rockets that destroy tanks. Hezbollah is viewed as a much more formidable foe than Hamas.
Israel is concerned and worried about Hezbollah’s precision-guided missiles, which can be aimed at strategic targets like power stations, government buildings, and military bases. Israel is anxious about opening a new front on the north side, as it can change the face of the war for the worse. Israel will have to fight on both fronts, which can be challenging.
In the last three days, fire has been exchanged on the border of Lebanon and Israel between Hezbollah and the Israel Defense Force (IDF). In these clashes, Hezbollah fired anti-tank missiles at Israeli army posts. In response, the IDF drone struck three Hezbollah terrorists, killing three of them at the post located in southern Lebanon.
The US sends warships
With Hezbollah, there is also a growing concern about Iran joining the war to help both terrorist organizations fight against Israel. Hezbollah and Iran are long-time allies, and Iran supplies weapons to both Hezbollah and Hamas. Israel, the US, the UK, France, and other European Union countries suspect Iran’s role in the gruesome attack on Israel by Hamas.
Israel, France, the US, and the UK are investigating Iran’s involvement, but no countries have proof of Iran’s part in the attack. On Monday, White House spokesperson John Kirby said the administration has yet to uncover “hard, tangible evidence” of its involvement. Israel’s President said, “It wouldn’t surprise me if there was a concrete Iranian role behind the scenes.”
Iran denies having any part but praises the barbaric attack on Israel. Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi congratulated and expressed his support for Hamas for what he called a “victory” over Israel. Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said, “We kiss the hands of those who planned the attack on the Zionist regime.” Iran, like other Arab countries, doesn’t recognize Israel.
The US sent the biggest warship in the world, the USS Gerald R. Ford, and ammunition to Israel to keep Iran from joining and spreading the war. The US has strictly warned Iran against entering the war. President Joe Biden warned Iran on Wednesday to “be careful”, and after providing military aid to Israel, the President said he “made it clear to the Iranians: Be careful.”
