The strikes persist in central Gaza Plain following the devastating loss of dozens of children and adults in the tragic Rafah massacre.

The attention of the world was fixated on Rafah following the tragic events in the Gazan city. Ultimately, Netanyahu was compelled to label it as a ‘grave mistake’ in light of the widespread internet outage. Despite this, Israel’s actions continue to raise concerns.

After the Rafah massacre, the residents fled and relocated to the tents surrounding central and southern Gaza.

The Israeli military has expanded its offensive into the central and southern regions of Gaza. Describing the operation as “operational activity,” the military has specifically targeted both above and below-ground terrorist activity and infrastructure in the eastern areas of Deir al Balah and Bureij. The operation commenced with the strategic targeting of infrastructure and proceeded with daylight activities in both areas.

In recent air strikes, numerous Palestinians lost their lives, as reported by local sources and a charity organization working in the area. Since last Tuesday, hospitals have been admitting women and children according to MSF.

A School Targeted

On Thursday, the Israeli military bombarded a UN School saying it had the attackers of October 7th. The motive to kill them led to the bombardment of the school. 27 were dead, they were seeking shelter according to Gazan media while others numbers of dead bringing up are 39.

The Hamas-government media official declines the claims of any hidden Hamas command post in the UN school in Nuseirat (Central Gaza).

The Israeli military asserts that they have taken measures to minimize the risk of harming civilians.

Ismail al-Thawabta (Hamas media official) said to Reuters that the occupation is using faltered public opinion to cover the heinous crimes conducted by them against dozens of displaced people.

As the cease-fire proposal is being discussed, the Israeli military has decided not to halt the operation and continue striking the attackers and the infrastructures occupied by them. They added the Hamas attackers of October 7 were using and exploiting the school as a hiding shelter.

On the other hand, the media spokesperson of Hamas said 39 were killed in this school attack and dozens injured were taken to al-Aqsa Martyr Hospital because of the casualties caused. Also accused the Israeli military of committing a horrific massacre that shames humanity.  This hospital is one of the last functioning hospitals in Gaza, the electrical failure earlier the night had complicated the treatment of patients.

The Israeli military said its fighter jets struck the school run by the United Nations agency providing aid to the Palestinians, known by the acronym UNRWA.

A journalist from Palestine named Hind Khoudary reported an air strike on the al-Sardi Boys preparatory which sheltered dozens of displaced families. While traveling to the place all that the journalist could smell was blood.

A parent to two dead children Abu Mohammad Abu Saif described this as destruction that has no words to express for. He lost his wife as she was unable to flee the site.

The ceased ceasefire

The talks of a ceasefire in Gaza with proposals of peace have been presented by Biden and other world leaders. However, the military in Gaza refuses to put a halt on its “operational activities,” despite proposals for hostage release and other peace measures.

The month-long offensive in Gaza has resulted in thousands of civilian deaths, including children. Aid routes have been obstructed, making it difficult for much-needed assistance to reach the people. Additionally, there are reports of deaths due to extreme hunger and famine, while ceasefire proposals are being presented but with little progress.
