The Israel-Palestine war which started on 7th October is still going on and is considered as the ‘deadliest war’ till date. The recent attack on Gaza hospital has raised serious concerns about which side is actually at fault. The geopolitics of the world has been divided into two sides: Israel and Palestine supporters.
Gaza Hospital Attack:
This attack happened on 17th October on a hospital named Al Ahli Arab Hospital via airstrike, killing around 500 people and injuring several other people. Rescue operations are still going on which can lead to an increase in the number of casualties with time. The people admitted in this hospital were mainly the victims of this war, because the hospital is the biggest one and believes in treating the patients without any discrimination.
Israel or Palestine: Who is responsible?:
We cannot take any stance right now because this question is still lingering in geopolitics. The USA has criticized Palestine for such inhuman action. But there is no proof to validate the point that the airstrike was conducted by whom. Palestine’s envoy to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, has openly made a statement in the UN about how Israel is denying the attack. He said that Israel had already warned them to vacate the hospitals which could be their next target a few days back and already a hospital was attacked a week ago.
He also highlighted the tweet of Hananya Naftali, aid to Israel’ PM, in which he clearly mentioned that Israel has successfully attacked one hospital where militants were present and killed many of them. But later, he deleted the tweet and a new post was updated about his misconception about the situation.
Also, Palestine highlighted the fact that Israel’s army had already vacated the area before the attack and it was only victims, nurses, and doctors who died.
Israel Defence Forces have made a report which suspiciously blames Islamic Jihad Group behind this airstrike as ‘faulty firing’. They used factors like the timeline of the event, Debris of rockets without Israel’s sign, intercepted Hamas communicating about rocket firing etc to support their claim. They have clearly denied any role behind this attack saying no army personnel of Israel was present at that time.
If we really want to understand the real scenario behind this war, we shall consider the news channels across different countries and not only USA and UK. Since there are many reasons for which their support and opinions can be biased. In the following article, news has been taken from various big media houses like Al Jazeera (Qatar), RT (Russia), Deutsche Welle (Germany) etc.
Israel’s changing narrative:
As per the reports of Al Jazeera- A spokesperson of Israel’ prime minister Netanyahu, gave a statement to CNN that ‘Israel never targets hospitals.’ But as per WHO report (released on 17th), 51 attacks have taken place on the hospitals in last 10 days.
A health official while talking to Al Jazeera told that Israel has given order to evacuate around 22 hospitals in which thousands of patients are being treated. He also informed the media about how ‘warning’ shells were fired before explosion by them.
RT’s headlines for war:
Russia has been supporting Palestine from the start while the west is in support of Israel. Russia’s stand can be clearly identified from the reports and news released by the country’s public service broadcaster. RT called the West being ‘hypocrites’. One of the subheadings questioned the USA about his duplicitous behavior in the two wars going on: Russia-Ukraine war and Israel-Palestine war. Where on one side USA supported the Ukraine and on other it is supporting Israel, Why?
USA’s partial stance for his allies:
An Arab official asked the USA to be ‘consistent’. He highlighted the point that once the USA described cutting off water, electricity and food as a ‘war crime’ in favor of Ukraine, why support Israel for the same treatment? [ Israel too has stopped all services of water, food and electricity from the Gaza strip, asking Palestine to back off]
Rishi Sunak’s visit:
Rishi Sunak, UK’s prime minister visited Israel to show support and solidarity. Sunak made a statement that Israel is just defending itself which is right as per International law. He also said that Israel has been trying its best to save the citizens there while Hamas is the one who is harming everyone in the area.
The PM openly supported Israel and his exact words were “I’m proud to stand here with you in Israel’s darkest hour.”
AIJAC’s map of Palestine:
AIJAC stands for Australia Israel & Jewish Affairs Council. It released the map of Palestine in July 2020 which shows that Israel has been occupying Palestine after World War-II. The major concern here is that why was this not stopped by global powers at that time? It might have resulted in avoiding war today.
If Russia is wrong to occupy Ukraine, why is Israel right today?
That’s the only question the Middle East, Russia, China, and Germany have in mind. Isn’t it the misuse of power by global powers like USA and UK to take biased stances?
