One of the legends of Bollywood, actor Jackie Shroff has spread a lot of joy among his fans with his entertaining films over the years. Some of his projects over the years include King Uncle, Yaadein and more. However, one of his most special films remains the 1983 film“Hero”.
This was the very film that marked the beginning of his journey as an actor in the industry.“Hero” as of recently completed four decades, that is, 40 years since its release and the actor is reminded of his old days when he was new to the entertainment industry. He shared a video on his Instagram handle celebrating 40 years of the film where his acting career began. He captioned the video saying “From Dust to Star…” which symbolizes his struggle and journey to being one of the greatest stars of Bollywood.
Jackie Shroff recently shared his opinions regarding the film “Hero” having a sequel and how he would want his son, actor Tiger Shroff to play the lead role in the film. He also discussed his desire to meet the original film’s director Subhash Ghai and expressed his sincere gratitude for making him a successful actor in the industry.

1.1 Jackie Shroff’s Take On The Remake
Hero has emerged as a classic Jackie Shroff film bringing him fame and recognition in the Bollywood industry. The actor recently shared his take on the remake of the film and also said that he would like to see his son, Tiger Shroff play the lead role in the film. He believes that Tiger would be the perfect pick for the film as he has a lot of patience which would make him suitable for the role. The actor believes that the remake of the film would be a very sentimental moment and Tiger playing the lead role would in some way, continue his legacy as “Hero”.
Jackie hopes that his son will receive the same amount of love and support as he did back in the day. In an interview with The Hindustan Times, Jackie said that he would like to see Tiger in the film remake. According to him, director Subhash Ghai made him a musical action star as he was handed a flute in one hand and a gun in the other hand.
He pointed out that his son, Tiger is good with both action and music too which makes him a better fit for the role. The actor hoped that just like him Tiger too would get an opportunity to work with great technicians and directors. He believes that if the remake is made possible it would turn out to be a beautiful film.
The actor further shared his opinions regarding the recreation of iconic films. He said that he solely believes there’s nothing wrong in making recreating films and he has starred in a remake film in the past. He said that what matters is the attempt at recreating the magic of an iconic film.

1.2 Jackie Shroff On How Subhash Ghai Made Him A Star
The film “Hero” in 1983 under the direction of Subhash Ghai made Jackie Shroff an overnight sensation. The actor recalled memories of how he still benefitted from the profits of the film even decades after its release. He also proceeded to say that he is thankful that the director pulled him out of his “chawl” to make him the star he is today.
The actor expressed his respect for the filmmaker who made him a star and said “Unhone pathar ko hero bana diya”. He also recalled how working with his co-stars Shammi Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor, and Meenakshi initially made him very nervous. Nevertheless, he had unwavering faith and trust in his mentor Subhash Sir who made things a lot easier for him. He followed the vision the director had and soon the film was set to be released, making him the star that he is today.
