Australian actor, Jacob Elordi had his first biggest hit during the Kissing Booth trilogy that starred on Netflix. However, recently in an interview with the GQ that was published on November 13, he expressed his thoughts about the Kissing Booth films without holding back. The 26-year-old actor called the series “ridiculous” despite the fact that this movie was his big break.
“Those films are ridiculous.” They are not shared by all. Jacob also said that these movies are an escape and how he became entangled in the Hollywood custom of accepting mediocre roles in the hopes of landing better ones in the future. That one is also a trap. Considering that it might become 15 for them and 0 for you. You’re lifeless on the inside and lack originality. It’s a nice dance, then.
The star of Euphoria also questioned the critics who advised him to accept his circumstances with a smile and express gratitude for the roles he has been given. He finds it extremely uncool since people’s time is the most valuable asset they possess and it is basically profiting from them if they give them garbage and don’t care. That is very selfish he believes.
JACOB ELORDI ON DOING SUPERHERO FILMS
The Euphoria actor revealed more shocking news in addition to the teen romance series that he has no “interest” in making superhero films and has even declined a chance to star in one.
Although the actor did not specify which superhero movie he was talking about, he was probably referring to James Gunn’s 2025 tentpole “Superman: Legacy,” which was casting in the spring and summer. In June, it was revealed that David Corenswet would play Gunn’s Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan would play Lois Lane. Elordi stated to GQ that he has no intention of appearing in a superhero movie anytime soon.
Jacob says that anything can happen in the future, but at this stage of his life, he does not see himself being interested in that. He likes to make films that he would watch himself because he would then get really restless when he watches those kinds of films.
Although some fans are taken aback by Jacob’s remarks regarding The Kissing Booth, this isn’t the first time he has expressed disapproval of the three films. In 2020, the actor from Deep Water talked about the immense attention he received after being cast as Noah in an interview with GQ Australia.
There was a brief period of extreme intensity. All night. It was really impossible to go anywhere, but after two years, it had significantly subsided, according to Jacob. “I wish I could make films in a closed circle where the actors’ identities are kept a secret. They may still find the films to be amazing, but for some reason they were unable to identify the faces. That would be very awesome.
JACOB ELORDI ON DOING HIGH SCHOOL ROLES
In the same interview, Jacob stated that he was done playing younger roles because his Kissing Booth character is a high school student.
The Saltburn star said, “Nothing against that, but I’ve kind of done it, and it would be really hard for me to find joy in that.” “It’s kind of taxing to keep going back to high school because I’m getting older and I start looking older.”
