Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, a tragic encounter occurred on Monday night between security forces and terrorists affiliated with the banned organization Jaish-e-Mohammed, resulting in the martyrdom of a Captain and three soldiers of the Indian Army. The responsibility for the attack has been claimed by a Jaish-supported group known as ‘Kashmir Tigers’. This incident marks the third major encounter in the dense forests of Doda district within a span of three weeks.
The martyred soldiers have been identified as Captain Brijesh Thapa from Darjeeling, Naik D. Rajesh from Andhra Pradesh, and Sepoys Bijendra and Ajay Kumar from Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu.

According to officials, Late Monday evening, security forces launched a joint operation in Dessa forest, Urbagi, engaging terrorists in a fierce encounter amid dense foliage. The exchange of fire resumed around nine o’clock in the evening, resulting in injuries to five soldiers. Tragically, Captain Thapa and three soldiers succumbed to their injuries during medical treatment.
In response to this escalation, the Army’s 16th Corps promptly deployed additional personnel, reinforcing their commitment to maintaining security alongside local police forces. Surveillance efforts, employing drones and helicopters, were intensified to monitor movement and prevent any further terrorist activities in the region.
