Janhvi Kapoor on finding shocking inappropriate photos of herself at age 10

Janhvi Kapoor has recently discussed finding naked altered pictures of herself as a teenager and inappropriate photos of herself on Yahoo. 

Many have a notion that star kids grow up with little to no trouble in their life, they might want to give this notion another thought. Daughter of late actress Sridevi and Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor has recalled horrifying incidents of finding morphed naked pictures of herself on inappropriate and almost porn websites and Yahoo. She also discussed being on the receiving end of harsh judgment from her teachers and schoolmates during her childhood. She stated the negative repercussions of growing up in the rise of the digital age and the privacy-invading paparazzi culture. The Bawaal actress further elaborated on the challenges of being in the spotlight as a young girl.

Janhvi Kapoor revealed how as a young girl in class 4 she found inappropriate pictures of herself on Yahoo’s homepage in which she looked not ‘groomed’ and ‘extremely uncomfortable’. She further stated how she entered her computer lab in school one day and found the photos spilt all across the Yahoo homepage which were sprawled across the computer screens of her classmates. In the same chat, the actress told Newslaundry that she found altered pictures of herself that her peers believed to be true and genuine. 

The Dhadak actress expressed her shock on the same photos having headlines of ‘her being launched in the industry’. While speaking to Newslaundry, Janhvi communicated her experience of being ‘alienated’ from her peers and being subjected to a different attitude from her teachers. She revealed that she faced taunts from peers about not being waxed, about being on Yahoo, about not having to work due to the legacy of her parent’s fame, and constant questions about when she was leaving school.

Janhvi further mentioned that she was not aware and could not fully comprehend why people around her were acting differently and how the dislike from her peers towards her stemmed from them also not understanding why she was targeted on Yahoo. The actress commented on the situation by saying, “ There was a lot of judgment and a lot of questioning of one’s self-worth from a very young age.”

The actress expressed how she felt uncomfortable after seeing pictures of herself. Moreover, she also stated in her interview how she and her sister Khushi Kapoor were clicked by people without their consent. Due to the fame of her lineage, the actress said that paparazzi cameras had been integrated into her childhood and her life. However, things took a turn for the worse when as a teenager she came across altered and manipulated photos of herself splashed on the internet on almost porn websites. 

The Good Luck Jerry actress went on to comment on the advancement of Artificial intelligence and how it was contributing to the rise of fake images more today than ever. She expressed her discontent and concern about seeing how people found the altered images to be true. The actress stated the harsh effects of the internet and paparazzi on her formative years and throughout her life.
