In a recent interview with Sneha Menon Desai for the Film Companion, the actress Janhvi Kapoor was invited to discuss her new film “Mili” which is a Bollywood remake of the Malayalam film “Helen”. She was asked several questions and had some fruitful discussions with the host of the spill the tea show.
She did a “smell and tell” test of her favourite ice cream flavours and later on, spoke her heart out on various topics including her insecurities, career, her journey of finding herself and also all the advice she shared with her sister to avoid mistakes while entering the industry.

Khushi Kapoor recently made her debut this year with Zoya Akhtar’s teen musical “The Archies” along with co-stars Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, Mihir Ahuja, Yuvraj Menda, Vedang Raina and Aditi Dot. She played the role of Betty Cooper in the film “The Archies” on Netflix.
Being the daughter of late actress and legend Srivedi and the younger sister of actress Janhvi Kapoor, it would not be inaccurate to say that the love for acting is in their blood. Janhvi stepped in to enlighten her sister with some do’s and don’ts to survive in the industry.
She revealed that she gave Khushi several advices and numerous talks when she was filming for “The Archies”. Among everything she said, there was major emphasis on the advice to be prepared for the hate she might have to face and never lose yourself in the process.
She also mentioned that she wished someone had given her the same advice she gave her sister. She wished she had someone who told her to look for people who valued her, liked her because it’s always easier to believe someone else’s words than your own.

1.1 Janhvi Kapoor on her sister’s performance in “The Archies”
In an interview with Aaj Tak, she was asked if she had watched “The Archies” and to share her honest opinions about her sister’s performance as Betty Cooper in the film. She replied saying she watched the film and that Khushi did a wonderful job. When she was having a conversation with Khushi, she told her to be prepared for the response she might get from the audience and stay true to herself.
1.2 Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor Question Themselves
When Janhvi stepped into the Bollywood industry to begin her journey as an actress, she faced severe criticism and trolling from the audience. However, despite the negativity she stayed strong and did not give in to the hate. She said if someone shares anything negative about you, it becomes easier to believe that person rather than when someone appreciates you.
She said it takes a lot of self confidence to have believe in someone who says the right thing and revealed that both the sisters tend to question themselves a lot. She told Khushi not to lose herself because Khushi has been very honest and true. She even added that she found Khushi’s performance in the film “The Archies” to be very warm and ‘real’ adding that it held a lot of innocence and it didn’t feel like she was trying to show off anything.

“The Archies” is a coming-of-age musical film by director Zoya Akhtar. It is an Indian adaptation of the popular Archies comics, and stars actors Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Aditi Dot and Yuvraj Menda. It was released on the streaming platform Netflix on December 7, 2023.
