Elections: Campaign for 43 Seats for Phase 1 Polls in Jharkhand Ends; Bypolls in different States

The election campaign in Jharkhand ended on Monday, November 11. The phase one of the assembly election campaigns ended in the state.

Different assembly seats are set to have bye- election in different states, the campaign ends for the bye- elections also. Bypoll is also going to take place for Wayanad parliamentary seat.

The assembly election in Jharkhand is scheduled to take place in two phases. The dates for the polls in the state have been announced earlier. The voting is to take place on November 13 for the first phase and November 20 is scheduled for the second phase. In the first phase voting will be held for 43 seats for which the campaigning ended on Monday. For the remaining 38 seats the voting will take place on November 20. The results of the polls will be out on November 23.

The total number of seats in assembly is 81 in Jharkhand. Among the 81 assembly seats the seats reserved for STs is 28 and the number of seats reserved for SCs is 9.

Election: Parties campaign in Jharkhand

The election campaign for phase one before coming to an end on Monday saw full fledged election campaigning with public rallies happening in different constituencies by the leaders of the contesting political parties.

The election rallies in the state were seen in full swing. Political parties campaigned in the state on the last day before the end of campaigning. Leaders from both the NDA and INDIA bloc addressed different public meetings. 

The last day of campaigning saw many public meetings in the state with leaders trying to woo the voters. 

Bye-elections in different constituencies

By-polls are also scheduled to be held for assembly seats in different states on November 13. Bye-election is scheduled to take place for parliamentary seat in Wayanad on Wednesday. 

By-polls will be held for 33 assembly seats in different states including Rajasthan, West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Karnataka, Sikkim, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya and Gujarat.
