Kalen Gorman, the producer behind popular behind the scenes content for ‘Glee’ and other well-known shows, has passed away at the age of 59, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Gorman’s publicist confirmed that she passed away on Tuesday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles following a struggle with breast cancer.

Kalen Gorman’s Work Behind Glee

From 2009 to 2014, Gorman produced more than 300 behind the scenes videos for each episode of Glee during its first five seasons. Her work featured interviews not only with actors but also crew members and creators, giving fans a rare glimpse of the show’s production. The content garnered millions of views on YouTube and other platforms.

“I always thought, God, for the fans who love this show, this is what they want to see.” She said in an interview in April. “They want to feel like they’re part of it” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Apart from her acclaimed work on Glee, Gorman produced behind-the-scenes for the first season of Ryan Murphy’s feud, starring Susan Sarandon as Bette Davis and Jessica Lange as Joan Crawford, and the political thriller Homeland. Born in Toronto and growing up in Los Angeles, Gorman began her career assisting legendary publicist Pat Kingsley at PMK Public Relations, before moving into TV production. She later worked on popular shows like The Mindy Project, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Bones.

Gorman’s Projects in Productions

In recent years, Gorman collaborated with companies such as All3Media America, Discovery, and Studio71, where she produced digital series like Keepin’ it Real with Keke Palmer, Step by Step with Matt Steffanina and Worst Firsts hosted by Brittany Furlan and the Facebook watch show Ladies First with Grace Helbig.

Gorman had no immediate family members at the time of her passing. Her brother, Alex Van Dyne, died earlier this year at 61, and her other brother, Kerry Gorman, passed away in 1992 at the age of 37.
