Today, a devastating landslide occurred on the Kedarnath Yatra route in Uttarakhand. This caused many fatalities and injuries to the group. Additionally many people are reported to be missing.
What caused the landslide ?
The landslide was triggered by heavy rains, leading to severe disruptions on the pilgrimage route.
This unfortunate accident killed at least three people and injured eight others. Due to intense rainfall in the region the landslide occurred which has caused significant disruption along the pilgrimage route.

The damage
As of now, 17 people are reported missing, and rescue operations are being conducted by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and other emergency teams. The dead bodies have been handed over to the SDRF.
The authorities are working tirelessly to locate and assist the missing individuals and provide aid to the affected pilgrims.
The heavy rainfall that triggered the landslide has raised concerns about the safety of the route and the ongoing pilgrimage. Officials have advised caution and urged pilgrims to follow safety guidelines and updates from local authorities.

Helicopter Crashes: There have been a few helicopter crashes in the region.These accidents are tragic often underscoring the dangers of flying in mountainous areas.
