However, recent events have thrust him into the spotlight for reasons beyond his policy initiatives.

On Friday, Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Arvind Kejriwal, delivered a poignant message that reverberated across social media platforms. In a video announcement, she introduced the ‘Kejriwal ko Aashirwad’ WhatsApp campaign, aimed at getting support for her husband amidst challenging circumstances. This initiative emerged in the aftermath of Arvind Kejriwal’s unexpected arrest, sending shockwaves through the political community and sparking widespread debate.

Sunita Kejriwal’s decision to harness the power of social media reflects a strategic response to the unprecedented challenges confronting her husband and his political career. Sunita Announced on WhatsApp ‘Kejriwal ko Ashirwad’, she shared a WhatsApp number for people to send wishes to the jailed Aam Aadmi Party Leader. She said that “We (APP Party) are starting a drive from today – Kejriwal ko aashirvaad. You can send your blessings and prayers to Kejriwal on this number”

This statement of Sunita comes one day after Arvind Kejriwal appeared in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court that extended his ED custody till April 1. Her Husband said himself that he was not well and had fluctuating sugar levels. He also stated that he is being harassed and people will get a reply. During these submissions his wife was present in the court.

It symbolises the collective strength of individuals rallying behind a leader who has championed the cause of the common man. Sunita Kejriwal’s involvement in spearheading this initiative not only showcases her unwavering support for her husband but also exemplifies the integral role of spouses in the political arena.

The arrest of Arvind Kejriwal has ignited a fierce debate. While opinions may vary on the merits of the case, one cannot deny the significance of grassroots movements in shaping public discourse. The ‘Kejriwal ko Aashirwad’ campaign serves as a poignant reminder of the power of grassroots activism in amplifying voices that may otherwise be marginalised.

Moreover, the campaign underscores the evolving nature of political communication in the digital age. In an era dominated by social media and instant messaging, traditional barriers to engagement have been dismantled, allowing for unprecedented levels of connectivity and mobilisation. By harnessing the reach of WhatsApp, the campaign has transcended traditional boundaries of political mobilisation, reaching individuals at the grassroots level and fostering a sense of community among supporters.
