The Captain Marvel actor announced the death of Kenneth Alexander Mitchell, a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle, son, and close friend, on Instagram. The statement was posted with heavy hearts. As an actor who appeared in numerous TV series and movies, Ken was well-known. According to the statement, “He’s portrayed four distinct Star Trekkers, an astronaut, an Olympic hopeful, an apocalyptic survivor, and the father of a superhero.”
ALS: What is it?
The neurological condition known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, damages the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. This illness results in a progressive loss of muscle control over time. Because of the well-known baseball player who had the condition, Lou Gehrig, ALS is frequently referred to as his sickness. Experts believe that certain cases of ALS may be hereditary, although the precise etiology of the disease is still unknown despite ongoing research.

And in true Ken fashion, he conquered them all with dignity and commitment, living a full and happy life at every moment and abiding by the principles that each day is a gift and that we are never alone. That was expressed.
Well-known for his roles in films including Miracle, The Green, Captain Marvel, The Recruit, and others, Mitchell was diagnosed with ALS in 2018 and began using a wheelchair the following year. Following Mitchell’s demise, the Star Trek community also paid tribute to him, expressing their profound loss in a statement posted on StarTrek.com.
The Instagram post stated that Mr. Mitchell had been battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as ALS, for almost five years.It went on, and he triumphed over each [adversity] with dignity and commitment, leading a full and happy life at all times.
Mr. Mitchell portrayed Aurellio, a character who utilized a hovercraft wheelchair, as well as the Klingon characters Kol, Kol-Sha, and Tenavik in “Star Trek: Discovery.” Aurellio’s art was a “special collaboration with my Discovery family that injected me with heaps of Love & Inspiration during my tough battle with ALS,” the man wrote on Instagram.
When Mr. Mitchell celebrated five years without ALS last August, he thanked his loved ones on Instagram. “It’s really quite beautiful. This illness is very frightening. but there is so much to be thankful for, even in the midst of all the pain,” he wrote next to a picture of himself on a beach.
On November 25, 1974, Mr. Mitchell was born in Toronto. According to the Instagram message, he is survived by his wife, the actress Susan May Pratt; his two children, Lilah and Kallum; his parents, Diane and David Mitchell; a brother, Sean; and numerous other relatives and friends.
