Nearly two months after it theatrical release, Laapataa Ladies has now been released on OTT platform. The Kiran Rao movie has been sheltered by Netflix and is gaining constant praises for the movie. Since its digital release the movie has been trending on social media platforms, be it Instagram or X. Fans can’t stop talking about this movie starring Pratibha Ratna, Sparsh Shrivastav, and Nitanshi Goel. The film revolves around a comic-dramatic case of two brides who accidently get swapped during a train journey.

Fans have been praising and cannot stop praising the movie since its release on OTT. Fans have been sharing their feelings and reactions about the movie and their experience watching the movie via posts on Instagram and X.
A fan posted on X sharing the scene featuring actor Chhaya Kadam and added one of her lines describing norms for women in the society with regards to women staying alone. She added further, “Today while watching #LaapataaLadies, I felt so heard and seen!”
Netizens praised Kiran Rao’s direction for Laapataa Ladies, for the sincerity, originality and honesty in her work.
Taran Adarsh, a Film Trade analyst shared “Right from the novel premise to the interesting sequence of events, stellar performances and superb finale, …DON’T MISS IT,” via a post on X. He applauded Laapataa Ladies for its originality, honesty and sincerity and that deserves a HIGHEST PRAISE, he said.
Kirao Rao getting her share of success and praises did not stop fans swooning over Arijit singh’s vocals in the song Sajni. A fan posted on X saying “One more addiction from Arijit’s voice, Sajni from Laapataa Ladies”.
A fan also shared their view of how the film deals with the subject of patriarchy in certain scenes, sharing a scene where Nitanshi Goel’s character Phool Kumari says- “We can farm and cook. We can give birth to children and raise them. If you think about it, women don’t really need men at all.”

Global star Priyanka Chopra congratulated filmmaker Kiran Rao on the success of her movie Laapataa Ladies. She shared a poster of the movie on her Instagram feed and wrote- “Thank you for the entertainment and the education @raodyness! Congratulations on this, make more movies!”
Alia Bhatt, only on the previous day had shared a heartfelt message congratulating the entire team of the film. She wrote “Such a wonderful time at the movies.” She congratulates the cast writing “These ladies @pratibha_rabta @nitanshigoelofficial (and gentlemen this side @ss_this_side @ravi_kishann) truly have my heart..@raodyness Such a beautiful film.. and what fabulous performances by the entire cast! Before Alia Bhatt. Gadar 2 actor Sunny Deol had shared his review of the film by posting a note on his Instagram story. “Trending #1 in movies on Netflix.” Deol shared his review in both Hindi and English and. He couldn’t stop applauding Kiran Rao for the movie, saying how the movie was heartwarming and innocent in today’s time. “All my best to Kiran Rao and team will recommend all to watch this gem” Deol added further.
About Laapataa Ladies
Set in a fictional state of Nirmal Pradesh in 2001, Laapataa Ladies talks about journey of two brides who are exchanged on a train. One is brought home by the groom of another, while the other is abandoned at a train station. Kishan (Ravi Kishan), a policeman, decides to look into the situation more. Aamir Khan Productions and Kiran Rao’s Kindling Productions are producing the movie,presented by Jio Studios. The movie is produced by Kiran, Aamir Khan, and Jyoti Deshpande in collaboration. It is based on a Biplab Goswami’s award winning story. The movie was released on March 1 in theatres.
