Kriti Sanon turns 34, how the Bollywood star does it all: From acting to business

After completing 10 years in Bollywood, Kriti Sanon has carved a space for herself in the film industry as a fan favourite. After modelling and acting, Kriti is not stopping there, she has undertaken some entrepreneurial ventures with her skincare brand, clothing line and fitness start-up. She is also soon to be seen as a producer, with her upcoming film ‘Do Patti. Celebrating her 34th birthday today, let’s look at this star’s journeys to success and her upcoming projects.

How she started 

Kriti is one of Bollywood’s leading faces today, but her journey to movies was unexpected. The National Film Award winner comes from a middle-class family and an engineering background. In an interview with PTI, Kriti revealed that at one point in college, she wasn’t even sure if she wanted to act, reported the Times of India (entertainment). “I went from discovering I could act to finally pursuing it. I think I’ve fallen in love with acting over time,” she said.

After completing her studies, Kriti ventured into the world of entertainment through modelling. From there she made her debut with the Telugu film “Nenokkadine” (2014), starring superstar Mahesh Babu and that same year, she appeared in her first Bollywood film “Heropanti”, for which she won the Filmfare Best Debutant Actress award. The actress is known for her versatile roles and has appeared in numerous films over the years.

  • Crew (2024)

Crew is Kriti’s latest film, available on Netflix. This comedy, directed by Rajesh Krishnan follows three bold flight attendants (Kareena Kapoor, Tabu, Kriti Sanon) who get involved in a gold smuggling ring. 

  • Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024)

Kriti stars alongside Sahid Kapoor, in this comedy-romance that follows an impossible love story. 

  • Bhediya (2022)

In this supernatural comedy, a man named Bhaskar (played by Varun Dhawan)  gets bitten by a wolf and faces many twists and turns as his friends look for answers. It is available to watch on JioCinema, 

  • Mimi (2021)

This is one of Kriti’s best performances, for which she received a national award as well. This Netflix drama follows the journey of Mimi, a surrogate mother.

  • Houseful 4 (2019)

Part of the popular Houseful franchise, this comedy-action film stars  Kriti Sanon, Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde and Kriti Kharbanda in lead roles. It is available on Disney Hotstar.

  • Luka Chuppi (2019)

Starring Kriti and Kartik Aaryan, this rom-com follows a couple who decide to experiment with living together before marriage but find themselves in many unexpected situations.

  • Dilwale (2015)

Directed by Rohit Shetty, this hit rom-com stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan, and Kriti Sanon. It’s available on Netflix. 

  • Heropanti (2014)

Kriti’s Bollywood debut besides Tiger Shroff is a romantic action that follows two lovers who elope and find themselves in a dangerous situation.

Business ventures 

Kriti is not only a Bollywood actor but also has entrepreneurial zeal. She has launched a production house with her sister, Blue Butterfly Films. Kriti also released a new skincare brand, Hyphen, along with the founding team of mCaffeine, which offers a wide range of products for different skin needs. Today, on her birthday, Kriti shared an Instagram story celebrating her brand’s first anniversary. She stated, “Hyphen’s journey has been so close to my heart.”

She is also a co-founder of the fitness brand, The Tribe India which has studios in Mumbai. 

Upcoming projects 

Kriti is set to produce a new movie, “Do Patti”, coming on Netflix. It is directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi and stars Kriti Sanon and Kajol as leading characters.
