Kylian Mbappe’s X hacked: Controversial Statements on Ronaldo-Messi and Manchester United

A hack of Kylian Mbappe’s X account earlier this morning resulted in the posting of a number of inflammatory tweets, including the long-standing rivalry between Ronaldo and Messi over who is the best.

The top forward for Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé, was the subject of controversy on August 29 after his X (formerly Twitter) account was hacked. His handle was used to post a number of controversial tweets that received a lot of attention from the football community. The long-running rivalry between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo was fueled by these posts. But the account hacking didn’t end with this rivalry. It also contained disparaging statements directed towards well-known Premier League teams, such as Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, and Manchester City, there were also tweets made on the Israel-Palestine issue.

Several messages concerning a cryptocurrency called “$MBAPPE” were posted on Mbappe’s account. Shortly after being shared on X, the posts were removed, but by then, the damage had already been done.

Like the others, these posts sparked controversy and soon became a topic of discussion among football fans. Luckily, they were taken down soon after they were published. After years of rumors, Mbappé finally signed for Real Madrid in the summer of 2024. His career in Spain hasn’t started off well. The Frenchman has found it difficult to establish a regular form in his early days at the Santiago Bernabéu, despite scoring on his competitive debut in the UEFA Super Cup. The hacking incident just makes things more difficult for him in his quest to become a vital member of Los Blancos.

Mbappe’s circumstances at Real Madrid

Despite not scoring a goal, the 26-year-old was last seen in action during Real Madrid’s 3-0 victory over Valladolid. Mbappe eventually signed a long-term contract with the La Liga team in the summer of 2024, after years of being linked to the Spanish club.

The Frenchman scored his first goal in the UEFA Super Cup during the 2-0 victory over Atalanta on his competitive debut, but he hasn’t exactly been on point since he couldn’t connect with his teammates.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti is unconcerned by Kylian Mbappe’s difficult start to life in Spain, believing the Frenchman will eventually settle well at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Mbappé? It seems like he last scored on August 14. When asked about Mbappe’s form during his news conference prior to the Las Palmas game, Carlo responded, “That was only two weeks ago, we are not worried and he is not worried.”
