Laila Majnu starring Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dimry, was re-released on 9th August after its initial release which was six years ago. The film was directed by Sajid Ali, written by Imtiaz Ali and produced by Ekta Kapoor. The film has been put up in more than 75 theatres across the country. The film didn’t do well during its initial release but gained popularity through ott and social media platforms.

The film depicts an eternal love story which is an inspiration for the youth and they are attracted to watch it. The re-release has surpassed the original collection in just four days. It earned 30 lakhs on the first and reached 70 lakhs on the second day. This shows that people are loving it and the cast of the film has also expressed their feelings on the success. The lead actor Avinash Tiwary tweeted and thanked the audience for the immense love towards the movie. The actors expressed their dissatisfied feeling when the original release of the film did not do well.

At the press conference announcing the film’s nationwide re-release on 75 screens, Avinash said, “This is an incredible feeling.” “The posters were being taken down on the third day that I went to see the movie with my friends. The film is being shown in Srinagar. This is an amazing feeling.

Tripii Dimri, received a massive stardom with last year’s Animal, dreamt that she would become so famous that she wouldn’t be able to leave the home after appearing in Qala and Bulbul. “Avinash and I felt horrible back then. I would have assumed that I would become so well-known after the movie that I would be unable to visit the market to purchase veggies! Since no one went to the movie theatre to see it, none of it occurred. “Galti ho gayi, wish we could watch it on the big screen,” many admit these days.

When asked how his role in Manju affected his conception of love, Avinash said that the film’s box office failure made him want to “run away” from the idea of eternal love, just like its legendary characters.

The movie was completed, and it did not perform well, he continued, “I just wanted to run away from the idea of Laila Majnu and all of that. I just didn’t want to look at that side because it would give me some pain. I would think on the lines from the movie, ‘jhoot hai tumhari duniya,’ and today I think, it is true, there is that pure world beyond the mountains. I feel vindicated today as I am sure many do.
