Project Launching Led by Amit Shah
Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister of India, opened a historic 24-hour water supply project in the Chandigarh province of Manimajra. This ₹75 crore project, finished as part of the Smart City Mission, attempts to supply clean and safe drinking water. This initiative is expected to benefit more than one lakh people, which includes each and every household in the area.
The Water Supply Project’s Features: Modern Filtration and Constant Supply
Amit Shah emphasised that this project will assist over one lakh individuals. Through one of the most advanced filtration plants, the new system will supply inhabitants with purified water twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. To guarantee continuous water availability, the project includes two sizable reservoirs, a new 22 km pipeline, and smart meters.
Infrastructure Investments Made by the Government
India’s Smart City Mission seeks to improve living conditions in Indian cities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fought to raise urban living conditions by putting the Smart City Mission program into action, according to Amit Shah. One of the first smart cities to be announced was Chandigarh. He continued by saying that the Chandigarh Smart City project alone has cost the government more than ₹1,000 crores.

Shah added that during the past ten years, the government has contributed ₹30,000 crores to Chandigarh’s development, of which ₹29,000 crores have gone towards infrastructure. This substantial expenditure demonstrates the government’s dedication to raising urban living standards through the 2014 inauguration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Smart City Mission.
The National Clean Water Initiative’s Impact of the Jal Jeevan Mission
Prime Minister Modi launched the Jal Jeevan Mission during his second term with the goal of providing tap water and clean water to every household in the country. “Water has been supplied to 150 million homes through taps in less than seven years, offering clean drinking water to 74 percent of the country’s households,” said Shah.
By guaranteeing that everyone in India has access to safe drinking water, our project has made a substantial positive impact on the standard of living. The Jal Jeevan Mission’s ongoing initiatives complement the Smart City Mission’s overarching goals by improving infrastructure and living standards in both urban and rural regions.
